Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2018-2022 Axis 25.6 and 2018-2021 Vegas 25.6 motorhomes

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Axis 25.6 and 2018-2021 Vegas 25.6 motorhomes. The heat shield between the LP tank and chassis muffler was not installed.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 321 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Axis 25.6 and 2018-2021 Vegas 25.6 motorhomes. The heat shield between the LP tank and chassis muffler was not installed.
Consequeces:: A missing heat shield increases the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Dealers will install a heat shield, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 22, 2021. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000228.

2021 THOR MOTOR COACH VEGAS Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Thor Motor Coach Vegas Motorhome. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 63 MPH, the electric shade on the driver’s side front detached and fell off the motorhome. The contact had to hold the electric shade up until they were able to pull over at a gas station. The plastic clips that held the electric shade were fractured. The contact unclipped the electric shade and later attached it with zip ties to secure it in place. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to make an appointment with a dealer to replace the plastic clips with metal clips and it would be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was unknown.;
2022 THOR MOTOR COACH AXIS Complaints
We purchased this brand new Thor, Axis from Lazydays, Tampa in January of 2022. We have only used it once since taking delivery (the slide was broken at that time). It has been in and out of the shop for months at a time for over 3 years, for various items, including the "brain" (3 times), the outside jacks, the slider, cracked windshield (while in service), severe water intrusion etc. The fact that this has been going on for so long and the response from Thor has been, "our only responsibility is to insure that you get service". No one wants this much service, expecially on something brand new. My husband is a Retired, 100% Disabled, Army Veteran and I can't tell you how this has stressed him. This is our 6th Camper and we have never had such a nightmare. Can you assist. We got it out of the shop yesterday....;
