Mercedes-Benz LLC is recalling certain 2018-2020 C300

Mercedes-Benz LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2018-2020 C300, 2019-2020 A220, AMG C43, AMG C63, 2020 GLE580, GLB250, 2020-2021 GLE450, GLE350, 2021 AMG GLE63, and AMG GLE53 vehicles. The LED headlights may have been incorrectly adjusted during a vehicle repair. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,467 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2018-2020 C300, 2019-2020 A220, AMG C43, AMG C63, 2020 GLE580, GLB250, 2020-2021 GLE450, GLE350, 2021 AMG GLE63, and AMG GLE53 vehicles. The LED headlights may have been incorrectly adjusted during a vehicle repair. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequeces:: Incorrectly adjusted headlights may reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the LED headlights, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed August 13, 2021. A second notice will be sent once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed January 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

2020 MERCEDES-BENZ A 220 Complaints
While stopped at a red light, my 2020 Mercedes-Benz A220 unexpectedly shut off and shifted into Neutral without warning. All warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, and a message instructed me to release the brake and restart the engine. The vehicle restarted, but this has now happened twice. The check engine light remains illuminated most of the time. This unexpected engine shutdown creates a safety hazard because the vehicle loses power unexpectedly while in traffic. If this were to occur while crossing an intersection or during other traffic conditions, it could increase the risk of a crash. In March 2023, an independent repair facility diagnosed all four fuel injectors as leaking fuel through the electrical connections, causing circuit problems, and warned there was a fuel leak. All four fuel injectors were replaced. In October 2023, a Mercedes-Benz dealership diagnosed rough idle, misfires, lean mixture fault codes, and excessive leakage in cylinder #4. Mercedes replaced the entire cylinder head under warranty. The vehicle is now experiencing unexpected engine stalls despite these previous repairs. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the repeated engine-related failures and unexpected stalling present a potential safety concern. I am aware of a Mercedes recall involving fuel system components on certain A220 vehicles. My VIN is not included, but I am reporting this because my vehicle has experienced repeated fuel- and engine-related failures and now unexpectedly stalls.;
2020 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG C43 Complaints
Car stops accelerating and shifts into neutral without warning I nearly got hit from behind. I have consulted several other Mercedes vehicle owners and all had the same issue. Two of the other owners stated that this happened on the interstate and was very lucky they were not involved in a collision. Both vehicles were GLC 300. Mercedes does not seem to have an answer to the issue and all previous owners traded vehicles for fear of dying.;
2020 MERCEDES-BENZ C 300 Complaints
I own a 2020 Mercedes-Benz C300 equipped with a power trunk. On July 22, 2026, I took my vehicle to Annapolis Mercedes-Benz because the power trunk was repeatedly closing on its own while people were standing in the trunk opening. I specifically reported that the trunk was unexpectedly closing while I, my child, or another individual was loading or unloading the vehicle and expressed concern that someone could be injured. The dealership kept the vehicle for several hours but advised me that no malfunction could be found. I was told the trunk had been reset and that there were no problems with the vehicle. I also provided video evidence of the trunk malfunction by text message to my service advisor. On August 2, 2026, the exact same problem occurred. While I was loading groceries into the trunk, the power trunk unexpectedly closed without warning and struck my son in the head, causing injury. This incident occurred after I had already reported the same safety concern to the dealership. I believe the power trunk is malfunctioning intermittently and presents a significant safety hazard because it can unexpectedly close on a person while the trunk is being used. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this potential safety defect, as it may pose a risk of injury to other vehicle owners and passengers.;
2020 MERCEDES-BENZ GLB 250 4MATIC Complaints
Complete engine failure mid driving on highway. NO engine light prior to complete engine failure. Vehicle has been towed to two different Mercedes Benz auto dealerships. Both service directors concur that this should not have occurred with zero warning and low mileage of 64,856 with an impeccable service record at Mercedes Benz Came on suddenly Julie 2026 and no engine warning lights;
