Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2021 D2000, 3000, and 4000 Derrick diggers. A retaining ring in the gearbox assembly was improperly seated during production, allowing the boom to unintentionally rotate freely.
The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 43 units affected.

- Description:
- Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2021 D2000, 3000, and 4000 Derrick diggers. A retaining ring in the gearbox assembly was improperly seated during production, allowing the boom to unintentionally rotate freely.
- Consequeces:
- Unintended boom movement increases the risk of injury.
- Corrective action:
- Altec will repair the gearbox assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 3, 2021. Owners may contact Altec's customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 827.
