Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2021 Infinity Q50

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Infinity Q50, Q60, and QX80 vehicles. A software error may deactivate the audio/video control unit screen, preventing the rear-view image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 3,569 units affected.

Description:: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021 Infinity Q50, Q60, and QX80 vehicles. A software error may deactivate the audio/video control unit screen, preventing the rear-view image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequeces:: A rear-view camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 14, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R21A9.

2021 INFINITI Q50 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Infinity Q50. The contact stated that the vehicle was recently purchased from a dealer. When the vehicle was purchased, the tires were replaced. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer for maintenance, and while at the dealer, the contact was informed that there were nails in the tires and that the tires needed to be replaced. The contact checked the sticker on the door panel for the tire information. The contact stated that the sticker indicated that the wheels were 18-inch rims. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to install the new tires, and the contact was informed that the rims on the vehicle were 17-inch rims. The vehicle was purchased at a CarMax dealer, and the contact asked why the 17-inch rims on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the ride would be better with the 17-inch rims and tires. The rims were not replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.;
2021 INFINITI Q60 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Infiniti Q60. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the malfunction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured aluminum bracket that sits between the front bumpers. The contact was informed that the aluminum bracket houses the sensor for the cruise control and forward collision avoidance features. In addition, the contact was informed that the aluminum bracket was a poor design by the manufacturer. The contact was informed that the bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,950.;
2021 INFINITI QX80 Complaints
The vehicle loses power due to failure of fuel pump, this causes the vehicle to stall out whilst driving. exactly as described in [XXX] this is a known issue with 2021 Infiniti QX80 and Infiniti tells me there is no open recal for our vehicle.
