Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Jeep Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) may have incorrect software which can disable the driver, passenger, and knee air bags without warning.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 99,255 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Jeep Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer vehicles. The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) may have incorrect software which can disable the driver, passenger, and knee air bags without warning.
Consequeces:: Disabled air bags can increase the risk of injury to occupants in a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will reprogram the ORC, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 2, 2021. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is Y79.

2021 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L Complaints
The steering started to feel intermittently difficult and then would release. It has been looked at by 2 mechanics and they report that it appears to be a structural failure of the front strut. The strut tower has separated from the body, the adhesive has failed, the rivets have broken loose, and the movement is causing the strut tower to contact the steering shaft resulting in intermittent binding of the steering. All involved believe this is a serious safety defect and a manufacturing issue. Because the car is out of warranty Jeep is denying any reasonability. There have been no accidents with this vehicle and no inciting event.;
2022 JEEP GRAND WAGONEER Complaints
My 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has been subject to an open safety recall involving the rear passenger-side window trim since I purchased the vehicle in 2025. I scheduled and attended numerous appointments with the authorized Jeep dealership seeking completion of the recall repair, but the defect was never remedied. On September 7, 2026, my husband was driving the Grand Wagoneer while I followed behind in another vehicle. My two toddlers were occupants of my vehicle. Before the incident, I observed the recalled rear passenger window trim flapping and becoming loose. The trim then detached completely from the Grand Wagoneer while both vehicles were traveling at approximately 75 mph on the highway. The detached trim entered or moved toward my vehicle’s path, forcing me to swerve suddenly to avoid striking it. This created an immediate risk of losing control, colliding with another vehicle, or leaving the roadway. The incident endangered the occupants of both vehicles, including my two young children, as well as other motorists. Fortunately, no collision or injuries occurred. The flapping trim was the only warning immediately before it detached. The dealership had prior notice of the unrepaired recall because I had brought the vehicle in approximately four times beginning in November 2025. Despite those appointments, the recalled component remained on the vehicle and ultimately failed in the manner the recall was intended to prevent. The vehicle and photographs of the affected area are available for inspection. The detached trim was recovered. 2022 JEEP WAGONEER Complaints
Vehicle Information: 2022 Jeep Wagoneer (5.7L V8 eTorque Mild-Hybrid System)Component Affected: Electrical System / Hybrid Propulsion System Defect: My 2022 Jeep Wagoneer continuously experiences sudden engine stalling and unexpected shutdowns while operating in Auto Start-Stop mode. When the vehicle comes to a complete stop at a red light or intersection, the engine shuts off normally to save fuel. However, when I release the brake pedal to accelerate, the vehicle fails to restart automatically. Instead, the vehicle suffers a total loss of power, drops the transmission directly into Park (P), and abruptly engages the emergency parking brake. This creates an immediate, severe safety hazard as it leaves me completely stranded in active traffic and at busy intersections. To get moving again, I am forced to completely cycle the push-button ignition manually. Additionally, the vehicle regularly fails to remote-start, turning itself off immediately due to the electrical fault. A diagnostic scan reveals DTC P0B42 (Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Sense "B" Circuit Low). This dangerous stalling pattern directly matches the active federal probe under NHTSA Investigation PE24018 regarding 2022 Jeep Wagoneer 48-volt electrical and power distribution failures.;
