Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Sienna vehicles equipped with seating for eight passengers. An incorrect seat belt webbing guide may have been installed on the outboard second-row seat belt assemblies.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,259 units affected.

Description:: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Sienna vehicles equipped with seating for eight passengers. An incorrect seat belt webbing guide may have been installed on the outboard second-row seat belt assemblies.
Consequeces:: During seat belt pre-tensioner deployment, the incorrect webbing guide may damage the seat belt webbing, causing it to tear and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the outboard second-row seat belt assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 10, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 21TB08 and 21TA08.

2022 TOYOTA SIENNA HYBRID Complaints
I own a 2022 Toyota Sienna with approximately 67,680 miles. The vehicle began displaying warnings for **Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction, Rear Cross Traffic Alert Malfunction, and Parking Support Brake Unavailable**. A Toyota dealer diagnosed the problem and found significant corrosion at **both rear blind spot monitor connections**. The wiring harness connector pins had corroded/broken off inside the blind spot monitor sensors. The dealer recommends replacing both blind spot monitors and the rear bumper wiring harness and recalibrating the system. The estimated repair cost is **$3,945.84**. I am concerned that both sides of this safety-related system experienced severe corrosion on a vehicle that is less than five years old. These components are not scheduled maintenance or wear items. I have also found reports of other 2021–2022 Toyota Sienna owners experiencing blind spot monitoring failures involving corrosion of the rear sensor/connectors, including another 2022 Sienna at approximately 65,000 miles. Toyota's Brand Engagement Center has documented my complaint but declined to review the repair for goodwill assistance because the vehicle is outside the basic warranty and has not been serviced exclusively at Toyota dealerships. I am filing this complaint because the corrosion simultaneously disables multiple driver-assistance/safety functions and appears unusually premature. I believe NHTSA should investigate whether corrosion or inadequate protection of the rear blind spot monitor connections is affecting other 2021–2024 Toyota Siennas.;
