Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 S580, 2022 EQS450, EQS580, and S500 vehicles with an active and connected Mercedes me connect account. The MBUX infotainment system might allow activation of the television and internet display while driving, causing a distraction for the driver.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 227 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021 S580, 2022 EQS450, EQS580, and S500 vehicles with an active and connected Mercedes me connect account. The MBUX infotainment system might allow activation of the television and internet display while driving, causing a distraction for the driver.
Consequeces:: Driver distraction can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: MBUSA has updated their computer server to correct the issue for most vehicles, free of charge. For vehicles that were not able to be updated remotely, dealers will provide the software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 25, 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

2021 MERCEDES-BENZ S 580 Complaints
Shock air leaking front right side. The car has 31,000 miles and is 5 years old. Is this to be expected?;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 450+ Complaints
The speed limit indicator included in the software package flashes constantly (approximately once per second), both inside the instrument cluster and in the Heads Up Display. The speed limit shown is almost always not accurate to the current speed limit, even when passing multiple very clear road signs showing the speed limit. The car still flashes when the speed limit it is showing is not being exceeded. Furthermore, when it cannot read the speed limit, the indicator will often flash road signs for other countries. All of this is happening within the field of view of the driver due to the Heads Up Display, causing a visual distraction which could result in accident. Mercedes and the dealer are aware of the issue, and according to my local dealer Mercedes promised to fix it last year, and then promised again to fix it by Q1 of 2026, both deadlines having passed. This same information was corroborated by a post on Reddit from a user who spoke with Mercedes. When I spoke to Mercedes support on the phone they indicated that my particular car was not even supposed to have this road sign feature, so the fact that it is appearing on my car is incorrect.;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 580 4MATIC Complaints
Tires being designated as the preferred tires via Mercedes are Bridgestone Turanza LS100 265/40R21 These tires go from new to under 3" of thread left, how is this possible. Yes EV vehicles are heavy but its clear these tire are not made sufficient enough to handle this vehicle. In addition to having to change all tires within less than 9,000 miles. The mercedes dealership in 2 different locations say that is normal!. one dealership advised some clients are having to change tires 3000 t0 5000 miles of use. If this is not confirmation that tires being designated for this vehicle are not sufficient. 3 TIRES !!! within 2 months have blown, pothole and 3 tires within 2 monhts is not normal. How is mercedes allowed to place into the market a vehicle where its obvious there are no tires capable of handling its weight. After 2 incidents to leave vehcile undrivable, HOUSE rules no more EV. I would not feel comfortable my family this vehicle with tires which cannot sustain normal driving conditions.;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ S 500 Complaints
The factory upgrade 21 inch spoke wheels with Pirelli P-Zero low profile tires are averaging a blow out every 800 miles. 5 flats and 2 sidewall blisters in the last 10,000 miles. Pirelli P-Zero 255/35/R21 Front and 285/30/R21 Rear are all four available for inspection if you tell me to save them before I replace them. There have been thousands of complaints and law suits re this issue just in the last 5 years on mercedes cars with low profile tires; to Mercedes, Pirelli, through legal discovery, to enthusiasts forums, and to NHTSA My first blowout was at 30 mph hitting a 1 1/2" deep pothole full of rain water. That one blew out the front right and blistered the sideall of the right rear at once. Then one of the new replacements blew on hitting a storm drain set 1" into the pavement on the way home from the dealership. I've been driving 60 years, and never had a single pothole blowout before now. Sidewall tears release all or most of the air at once creating an extremely dangerous situation. Somebody will lose control and hurt or kill someone, or behurt while stopped in an unsafe spot. Since the car can't be towed and has no spare, it is exteremely costly and inconvenient to replace a tire. It has cost me thousands so far, and left my disabled wife and me stranded beside the highway. Car is on a flat and one and a blister on a second tire right now in driveway. Best fix is to go to a square wheel/tire fitment using 19" x 8.5" wheels with 35 offset 66.6 mm bore on all four, all season radials. To keep outside diamter the same for the computer, 255/45/R19 /AS/ XL W and with acoustic tuning or dampening to match the quiet factory tires on these cars. 20" wheels is no good, because to maintain diameter would require the same too short 35 sidewall profile on two of the tires. Staggered 19 inch wheels will work, but the square fitment allows for tire rotaion and for the carrying of a spare. Maybe make that optional for replacement recall.;
