Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 Super Duty F-250

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, and Medium Duty F-650 and F-750 vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. A small void may be present in the top-center of the vehicle's underhood secondary fuel filter cap, which may progress to a pinhole over time, allowing fuel to leak from the top of the secondary fuel filter.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 19,697 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, and Medium Duty F-650 and F-750 vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. A small void may be present in the top-center of the vehicle's underhood secondary fuel filter cap, which may progress to a pinhole over time, allowing fuel to leak from the top of the secondary fuel filter.
Consequeces:: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire or injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the primary and secondary fuel filters, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S01.

2021 FORD F-250 SD Complaints
Transmission, temporally could be available but to replace it there is a $1500 core charge The transmission catastrophically failed, which lead to the rear wheels to lock up while driving, putting me and others at risk, had i been going faster when it did lock up No the problem has not been reproduced by a independent service center as i am going to replace the transmission myself I have inspected it along with a mechanic via photos showing all the metal fragments in the fluid and filter No warning lamps prior to the failure, but there where warning lights of service vehicle soon before the transmission locked up. Ever since new the transmission has shifted erratically especially from 3-4 and 6-7. Ford told me this was normal when I brough it in back when it only had a 20 or 30k miles on it for the erratic shifting. I now have 76K miles.;
2021 FORD F-350 SD Complaints
The high pressure fuel pump failed sending metal shavings through out the entire fuel system. I had no heads up and the failure left me stranded on top of a bridge. I called 911 twice and finally the cops showed up and wrecker towed me off the bridge. Ford is aware of this known issue with this make and model, and even put a recall partial recall / quick fix to increase the flow around the pump to keep it cooler. I had the quick fix recall completed but it did not prevent the failure and me being stranded on a bridge.;
2021 FORD F-450 SD Complaints
Failure of a $70 thermocouple sensor in the air conditioning unit requires replacement of the entire evaporative cooler, which requires removal and reinstallation of the entire dash from the vehicle. This should be a part serviceable without such extensive work.;
2021 FORD F-550 SD Complaints
Parts Not Available Complaint: The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-550. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL) however upon having the vehicle diagnosed by a local dealer where the following code was displayed "P2291" The contact was advised that because of the code displayed that the remedy would not be performed. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer where the contact was advised that because the code had been wiped by the previous dealer that the remedy would not be performed. The contact emphasized that they do not feel safe driving the vehicle without the remedy being completed. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was made aware.;
2021 FORD F-600 SD Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-600 SD. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact was advised that the repairs could cause more failures and that the recall repair could not be performed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.;
