Thor Motor Coach is recalling certain 2022 ACE, Freedom Traveler

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2022 ACE, Freedom Traveler, Hurricane, and Windsport motorhomes. The rear ladder may have been installed on the wrong side of the motorhome.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 148 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2022 ACE, Freedom Traveler, Hurricane, and Windsport motorhomes. The rear ladder may have been installed on the wrong side of the motorhome.
Consequeces:: An incorrectly installed ladder may break while in use, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect the location of the rear ladder, and reinforce or relocate the ladder as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 24, 2022. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000255.

2022 THOR MOTOR COACH ACE Complaints
I purchased the motorhome from Fraserway RV in Kamloops, BC. The vehicle was sold to me as a new unused unit in November 2023. While turning into a strip mall parking lot from a small service road, we were travelling at around 5-10 KPH. My wife and I heard a very odd low "thud" type of noise coming from somewhere in the motorhome. We parked in the mall parking lot and began to look for the source of the noise. We were unable to find anything so we assumed perhaps something in a cupboard had shifted. We purchased some groceries and my wife decided to move some frying pans from under the cupboard sink to the oven drawer. The oven drawer is covered in a glass type material. When my wife opened the drawer the glass panel on the oven drawer, literally exploded in her face sending glass shrapnel throughout the motorhome. I reported the incident to the Manufacturer and they did not even reply. It seems evident that the drawer glass panel experienced some sort of stress which caused the thud. NOTE: I am located in Kamloops, BC, Canada but your system doesn't allow me to make this information known.;
2022 THOR MOTOR COACH FREEDOM TRAVELER Complaints
At approximately 40 to 45 mph experianced violent shaking of the steering wheel/ wheel wobble. It nearly pulled the steering wheel from my hands and caused extreme shaking of the entire vehicle. The shaking stopped as I immediately reduced speed. On down the road I increased speed again to 40 to 45 mph wirh the violent shaking / wobble reoccurring. Returned to Camping World of Pittsburgh who jacked up front end but found nothing out of order. Traveling home the violent shaking / wobble in the front end occurred twice more. Once at auch lower speed around 30mph. It was extremely difficult to maintain control and steer the vehicle during these episodes. I have been driving for 60years and hold a CDL with all endorsements and have drivin tractor Traylors cross country and have never experianced anything like this.;
2022 THOR MOTOR COACH HURRICANE Complaints
The front cap seperates from the frame rail. There is a recall in Canada for the same issue. Transport Canada Recall - 2023087 - THOR MOTOR COACH Issue: On certain motorhomes, the brackets for the front lower cap may not be attached properly. As a result, the brackets could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A bracket that detaches from a vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealership to inspect the brackets for the front cap and replace the mounting hardware. The dealership will also install new brackets, if necessary.;
2022 THOR MOTOR COACH WINDSPORT Complaints
I’m concerned about the bbq propane compartment getting hairline cracks and the brass shut off valve that’s made of brass and dropping down to the road and getting road rash till it grinds through the shut off valve. I just read on a Thor Facebook forum that this happened to a 2016 Thor Windsport 34P. I have the pictures he posted. I asked AI Gemini, apparently this is a known and well documented safety issue. I can forward the link to the AI report. Will link here if this works. The pictures are mine (intact) and the other two are his 2016 motorhome.
