Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2022 NX250

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Lexus) is recalling certain 2022 NX250, NX350, NX350h, and NX450h+ vehicles. Missing spot-welds between the body panels and the front shock absorber mounting areas may cause the front shock absorber to separate from the mounting area.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 4,215 units affected.

Description:: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Lexus) is recalling certain 2022 NX250, NX350, NX350h, and NX450h+ vehicles. Missing spot-welds between the body panels and the front shock absorber mounting areas may cause the front shock absorber to separate from the mounting area.
Consequeces:: A separated shock absorber can cause a loss of vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will add welds to body panels or replace the body panels where welds have failed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 10, 2022. Owners may contact Lexus customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Lexus's number for this recall is 22LA02.

2022 LEXUS NX350H Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Lexus NX350. The contact stated while at the carwash and shifting from park (P) to drive (D) the vehicle failed to respond, causing the vehicle behind to hit the rear of his vehicle. The tailgate and the rear bumper sustained minor damage. There was no warning light illuminated. The air bags did not to deploy. There was no injury sustained. The contact shifted into park, turned off, and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent out a field technician, who diagnosed that no issues were found. The manufacturer later sent an email to the contact, stating that the incident occurred due to the fact that he panicked. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.;

The contact owns a 2022 Lexus NX450H+. The contact stated while in reverse and exiting her driveway at approximately 3 MPH, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated in red. Additionally, she had not depressed the brake pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed and determined that the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the sudden braking failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.;
