Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles. Dust may accumulate in the steering wheel clock spring, causing a disconnection in the electrical connection resulting in the driver's air bag not deploying as intended.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 310,203 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 vehicles. Dust may accumulate in the steering wheel clock spring, causing a disconnection in the electrical connection resulting in the driver's air bag not deploying as intended.
Consequeces:: A disconnected driver's air bag can result in it not deploying, as intended, during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the steering wheel clock spring, free of charge. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 3rd Quarter of 2023. An interim notification letter informing owners of the safety risk was mailed on July 6, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S35.

2016 FORD F-250 SD Complaints
The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at 50 MPH, the vehicle went into the death wobble and started shaking violently. The contact pulled off the roadway and parked the vehicle. The failure was a recurring failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be repaired; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.;
2016 FORD F-350 SD Complaints
The issue with truck is the rear window has a large mirror tint reflection. Causing a safety hazard when driving as the reflection leaves other drivers light blinded. Leaving a flash blindness.;
2016 FORD F-450 SD Complaints
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH A TRAILER AND A LOAD CONNECTED TO THE TRUCK THE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM MESSAGE SUDDENLY APPEARED WITHIN THE MESSAGE DISPLAY, AS WELL AS THE ABS LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, AND THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT. IMMEDIATELY WE ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. FORTUNATELY TRAFFIC WAS NOT TOO CONGESTED AROUND US AND WE WERE DRIVING ON A RELATIVELY FLAT ROAD AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE HAD LOST VIRTUALLY ALL BRAKING POWER AND THE WE BASICALLY HAD TO COAST TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE IS A 2016 FORD F-450 SUPER DUTY CREW CAB TOWING A 25' GOOSENECK TRAILER WITH ONLY 71,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AN ABSOLUTE CATASTROPHE HAD WE BEEN HAULING A HEAVIER LOAD AND DRIVING DOWN A DOWNHILL GRADE! THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARNING WHATSOEVER! 2016 FORD F-550 SD Complaints
This truck has been under maintenance since 5,000 miles, and it will never be repaired if it is still maintained now. No invoice will be given for subsequent repairs on this truck;
