Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022 Audi A6 Sedan

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2022 Audi A6 Sedan, A4 Sedan, Q5, and Q5 Sportback vehicles. The semiconductor inside the engine control unit may short-circuit and cause an engine stall.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 72 units affected.

Description:: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2022 Audi A6 Sedan, A4 Sedan, Q5, and Q5 Sportback vehicles. The semiconductor inside the engine control unit may short-circuit and cause an engine stall.
Consequeces:: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the engine control unit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 24iH.

The contact owns a 2022 Audi A4. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle while the front passenger seat was occupied, the air bag warning light illuminated and a chime sounded. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was being diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,400.;
2022 AUDI A6 Complaints
I am reporting a manufacturing defect involving the dashboard on my 2022 Audi A6. The dashboard has begun bubbling and warping, particularly near the area close to the windshield. This defect appears to be common among Prestige-trim Audi A6 vehicles, as other owners have reported similar dashboard warping. The warping causes the dashboard material to rise upward, which reflects additional glare and partially obstructs visibility through the lower portion of the windshield, especially in certain lighting conditions. This reduces my ability to clearly see hazards low on the road ahead, creating a potential safety risk. Additional Details: - The vehicle has not been modified. -The issue has progressively worsened over time. - The defect appears to affect normal forward visibility and could distract the driver. Audi has not issued a recall for this known problem, despite multiple similar complaints from other owners (Effected Models per online research: ETron, R8, A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8). I am asking NHTSA to investigate this dashboard defect as a potential manufacturing defect and safety hazard due to obstructed visibility and distracted driving caused by glare/reflection from the warped dashboard surface.;
2022 AUDI Q5 SPORTBACK Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Audi Q5. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the brake failure warning light illuminated. Additionally, the doors locked independently, and the windows independently rolled down. The contact attempted to depress the brake pedal; however, the brake pedal was extremely firm. The contact was able to stop the vehicle on the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact waited for the vehicle to cool down before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer found no failure with the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 5,000.;
