Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport and 2022 Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners may be damaged, which can cause the seat belts to not properly restrain occupants.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 4,927 units affected.

Description:: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2022-23 Land Rover Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport and 2022 Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners may be damaged, which can cause the seat belts to not properly restrain occupants.
Consequeces:: Improperly restrained occupants have an increased risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and replace the front seat belt assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2022. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N720.

2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT Complaints
The contact owns a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Electrical Battery Charging Fault" was displayed, and the battery warning light was illuminated. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where the alternator was replaced, and the vehicle was able to start; however, the mechanic determined that the failure was related to an unknown converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.;
2022 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR Complaints
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2022 Land Rover Range Rover Velar. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of the purchase, the mileage was approximately 27,300. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for software updates months after it was purchased. A technician performed software updates and informed the contact of a mileage discrepancy. The scan tool displayed an approximate mileage of 45,000. The contact had not driven the vehicle in several months, and the mileage could not have increased while not being driven.;

The contact owns a 2023 Land Rover Defender. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V248000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure;
2023 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT Complaints
Roof molding detached from driver's side of 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport, upon arriving at home checked the passenger side and it came off without excerpting any force. Subsequent check on search engines indicate this may be a common occurrence in recent model Land Rover SUVs. I ran a VIN check for recalls on NHTSA and did not find one open for the 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport, though the same issue is listed as a recall for Range Rover & Range Rover Sport for 2023-2026 and NHTSA has a safety bulletin posted (from Land Rover) for 2019 and newer Land Rover Discovery Sport named "LTB00865NAS2 - Roof Molding Loose / Adrift" available at: [XXX] There are three Land Rover Discovery Sport of similar years in our neighborhood and one other is missing the same passenger side roof mold - these blowing off in traffic at speed are a highway safety concern.
