Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2022 AMG GT43

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 AMG GT43, 2019-2022 AMG E53, E53 Coupe, E53 Cabriolet, AMG GT53, and 2019-2021 AMG CLS53 vehicles. The transmission wiring harness may be misrouted, which can expose the electrical connector to corrosion, and result in an electrical short-circuit.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 16,977 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 AMG GT43, 2019-2022 AMG E53, E53 Coupe, E53 Cabriolet, AMG GT53, and 2019-2021 AMG CLS53 vehicles. The transmission wiring harness may be misrouted, which can expose the electrical connector to corrosion, and result in an electrical short-circuit.
Consequeces:: An electrical short-circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and repair the electrical connector, as necessary. Dealers will also reroute the harness and install an additional bracket. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 14, 2022. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. 2021 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG CLS53 Complaints
The contact owns a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS53. The contact stated that she drove the vehicle for two seconds when the active brake assist inadvertently engaged without warning. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. Additionally, the contact stated that the screen interactive system failed to properly operate, and without warning the screen illuminated then failed on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that she manually disengaged the active brake assist to prevent future accidents. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 6,890;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG E53 Complaints
It started with a humming sound in the front right wheel well and then I was driving on the freeway and my steering wheeled jerk to the right and slammed me into the side of a semi truck vehicle is available to be looked at it almost killed me. And I contacted the dealer where I bought the car from and another dealership and they both refuse to look at my car. I believe the effective component could be either the assisted steering or lane keeping and or a bad wheel bearing at manufactured;
2022 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG GT43 Complaints
I was driving my car on [XXX] , 2024, on the [XXX] highway when the car suddenly started to display many errors on the dashboard/cluster. Then, while moving, the gas pedal suddenly stopped working, and at the same time, all the electrical buttons and lights started flashing. The shift didn’t work, and the gas pedal didn’t respond, which put me in danger in the middle of the highway. Luckily, no one hit my car, and I was able to pull to the side of [XXX] . I then called Mercedes Me from the car and had it towed to the dealership. Here are some of the warning lights that came on the cluster/dashboard, which put me in a very dangerous situation in the middle of the highway. It’s also worth mentioning that for the same issue, the car stayed in the dealership service for 10 days, and they returned it to me saying no issue was found. After 1-2 days of getting the car back, I faced the above situation. Warning lights/issues: Inoperative Active brake assist functions limited Active blind spot inoperative Active lane keeping assist inoperative Motor sign on dashboard RBS warning on dashboard Active distance assist inoperative 4 matic currently unavailable Malfunction in red and yellow color flashing Traffic sign assist inoperative All button lights were flashing Shift is not operative Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, because it is a major safety concern.
