Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Momentum, Solitude, Imagine, Reflection, and Transcend travel trailers. The electric retractable awning has a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, potentially allowing the awning to drop beyond normal operation.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 8,150 units affected.

Description:: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Momentum, Solitude, Imagine, Reflection, and Transcend travel trailers. The electric retractable awning has a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, potentially allowing the awning to drop beyond normal operation.
Consequeces:: An awning that drops or extends beyond normal operation can increase the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the awning, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed by August 22, 2022. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910031.

2023 GRAND DESIGN IMAGINE Complaints
Axle assembly does not meet Federal Vehicle Safety requirements. Vehicle is rated at GVWR/PNVB 8995LB and axle assemble ratings are 4400 each. Two axles at 4400 each is 8800 LB, see axle tag photos. The leaf springs are rated at 3500 LBS with both being 7000 LB, see axle tag Leaf Spring Designation 7225 LB. I have 4,427 documented miles on the recreation vehicle and just had the bearings repacked and two out of the four bearings show scoring and discoloration from extreme over heating indicating improper calculation of load bearing components. The manufacture's own labels show the suspension is not rated or configured for the RV's requirements.;
2023 GRAND DESIGN MOMENTUM Complaints
In 2023 we purchased this RV. Recently, we discovered that the cargo carrying capacity is incorrect by about 900 pounds, subject to Recall 23V-428. Grand Design knew of this defect before the rig was sold; however, they didn’t remove the vehicle from the dealers lot, nor were we ever contacted by Grand Design. Grand Design knew of the issue in June 2023, and we purchased our rig in July 2023. We also have had the rig in for repairs for broken leaf spring supports and now they’ve done some welding on our frame because of frame flex issues.;
2023 GRAND DESIGN REFLECTION Complaints
Possible frame flex on 5th wheel, had nose cap replaced in June and was told nothing else was wrong, then why did my nose cap crack. Just want it on record with all the issues with GD trailer failures..;
2023 GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE Complaints
Frame and structural integrity/towable RV. 7/15/2024 — First Warranty Repair (Frame): Blue Compass found broken seal-plate welds on the frame; welds repaired, bolts replaced. 30 ft of roof membrane, which had pulled loose and "ballooned" in transit, was fully replaced. 6/2026 — Recurrence: Roof membrane pulled loose again during travel. Mobile tech (Mike's RV Repair, GA) performed a temporary repair ($668.60, GD-reimbursed), initially noting "frame flex" based on owner's account of 2024 history, later revised to "possible frame flex" absent independent diagnosis. 6/19–21/2026 — Follow-up Repair: GD/dealer deemed mobile-tech photos insufficient. Blue Compass Charleston reopened the repair, found membrane improperly tucked under the front cap, corrected and resealed it. Cost: $1,375.08. 7/23–8/8/2026 — Inspection, No Cause Found: Blue Compass Prescott Valley performed a free inspection; air test found no leak source. At pickup, service writer and tech visually compared the unit to a new one on the lot and confirmed filon flex/loose pin-box fit, expressing concern, but had no authority to independently request Grand Design SRT involvement. 8/10/2026–Present: Owner escalated to Grand Design; new case #01085558 opened for frame flex. GD committed to 24–48-hr follow-up; deadline passed with no contact. Additional structural symptoms since observed: lag bolts replaced in 2024 frame repair are missing, backed out or loose, detached service bay shell, separated closet panel with exposed insulation, misaligned closet doors/wall gaps, screws backing out throughout the basement — suggesting a broader chassis/structural issue beyond the roof. Documentation available: repair invoices, photos/video, mobile tech invoice, receipts, full GD case history. Have an appointment on 9/4/26 for dealer to do a frame inspection that Grand Design and Lippert are requiring to be done before considering any support with repairs.;
