Volvo Car USA, LLC is recalling certain 2022-2023 S60

Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2022-2023 S60, V60, S90L, XC60, and XC90 vehicles. An electronic control module (ECM) software error may prevent the combustion engine from starting, causing a loss of drive power.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 15,674 units affected.

Description:: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2022-2023 S60, V60, S90L, XC60, and XC90 vehicles. An electronic control module (ECM) software error may prevent the combustion engine from starting, causing a loss of drive power.
Consequeces:: The vehicle may lose drive power as the high voltage battery is depleted, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the ECM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 8, 2022. Owners may contact Volvo Car's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10198.

2023 VOLVO S60 Complaints
I received a previous recall notice for the backup camera not working and visited the dealership on August 19, 2025 to recieve the software update that was supposed to fix this problem. Since receiving the fix, I have continued to have the same intermittent interruption of the backup camera as I was having before the "fix". I do not believe the software fix helped the issue and this feels like an underpowered hardware issue.;
2023 VOLVO S90 Complaints
My Volvo was left in the garage for three weeks while on vacation, came back and the sunroof was cracked. The dealer inspected the car, but claim the sunroof was hit (which is not true). There is no evidence that the sunroof was hit.;
2023 VOLVO V60CC Complaints
The contact owns a 2023 Volvo V60CC. The contact stated that while driving approximately 52 MPH, the vehicle drove over a small bump on the road, causing the front driver’s side seat belt to tighten and pull the contact closer to the seat by the neck after locking. The contact stated that the seat belt left a bruise on the neck after several seconds when the vehicle returned to normal operation. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.;
2023 VOLVO XC60 Complaints
Entire car audio does not work. Blinker click, collision warning, navigation etc. Volvo has blamed software but each update in the past 3 years has not fixed the issue. Driving a car where the entire audio system is not working reliably is a safety issue;
2023 VOLVO XC90 Complaints
The car recently received a 5.05 update of the infotainment system. Since then, the infotainment system would be shut off and auto-restarts itself during driving every 10 or 15 minutes. The car would lose all the functions related to the infotainment system, such as the camera, navigation, sound and air conditioning for a few minutes during driving. It is dangerous that this would happen randomly and so frequently. This incident has been reported by many Volvo car owners in the past few days since the update, and the dealer didn't fix the problem. We are going to a dealer two days later but don't have much hope for the fix.;
