General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 740,108 units affected.

Consequeces:: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N222386380. This recall expands previous recall number 22V-827.

2023 BUICK ENVISION Complaints
I purchased this vehicle on [XXX]. Dealership was: PM AUTO GALLERY, LLC. This vehicle had a salvaged title due to an accident several months earlier. Pablo Mazlumian is the proprietor & owner. He did disclose that this Buick Envision was salvaged, yet in good working order. He recommended getting the vehicle inspected from a independent shop prior to purchase. This was completed by CHRISTIAN BROTHERS also located in KS. There were no apparent issues found by this inspection, nor were there any disclosed issues made by Pablo. Pablo did highly recommend that I purchase a fully extended warranty through a company that he was associated with. A warrty was purchased. This vehicle was then purchased in "Good Faith", believing there no issues associated with this vehicle. In late June 2026, an idiot light on the dashboard started flashing. I contacted Pablo, who suggested calling the extended warranty company. In early July 2026, this same extended warranty company was notified. I was told to take the vehicle into any shop with a certified mechanic to complete a diagnostic testing. This cost ($140) was an out-of-pocket expense. It was determined that there was an issue with the airbag. I was told by the warranty company that it was not covered because they deemed it as a "pre-existing issue". My local Buick dealership was then contacted, where the airbag part number on this part was not designed for this Buick & could create issues, including possible fatalities. Pablo was made aware of this issue. Pablo stated that since the airbag was apparently not correct, he would accept reimbursing me for a 3rd party airbag, if I would agree in returning the current airbag back to him to use on another possible vehicle. This concerned me because of 1) Counterfeit 3rd party airbags & 2) The very strict compliance regulations in returning HAZMAT airbags that Pablo was ignoring. 2023 CADILLAC CT4 Complaints
The problem first arose in June 2023 with a different car, 2022 CT4V VIN [XXX] . I was driving and suddenly, all the dashboard lights went on and the brakes stopped working. There was no pressure on the pedal. I was able to roll to a stop without incident. I turned the car off and back on again and the brakes worked but the check engine light was still on. I was able to limp the mile back to my house. After almost 6 weeks at the dealer, I was told they replaced a brake module and the car was fine. On [XXX], it happened again. It was towed to the dealer and I refused to drive it again. The car had about 2400 miles on it. They took it back, although claiming nothing was wrong, and I bought the CT4V Blackwing 2023. On [XXX], it happened in the new car (500 miles on it). The dashboard lit up, the brakes wouldn't work, although this time instead of no pressure on the pedal, it was hard as a rock. After turning it on and off again, the brakes worked but the speed was restricted and other things in the car did not seem to be working correctly. The check engine light was also on. The dealership towed it. They told me they could not recreate the problem. Weeks later, I was told that an engineer from GM was looking at it. I received a call from some customer support department person who eventually told me that there was nothing wrong with the car, that the brake failure was a result of the Allstate Milewise device that was plugged in and they would not do anything for me. My husband has a Milewise in his Chevy truck with no issues. I found a forum online discussing this problem which has apparently happened to numerous people in CT4V and Blackwings. 2023 CADILLAC CT5 Complaints
While driving my 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in an active traffic lane, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of propulsion. I was unable to maintain movement with traffic, and the vehicle became disabled in the roadway. The failure occurred without sufficient warning for me to safely remove the vehicle from active traffic. This created a serious safety hazard because the sudden loss of propulsion exposed me and other motorists to the risk of a rear-end or other collision. This incident is particularly concerning because the vehicle has experienced multiple catastrophic engine failures. The vehicle has experienced four engine failures and is currently at an authorized Cadillac dealership undergoing installation of a fifth engine. The vehicle previously spent approximately 157 days at an authorized Cadillac dealership during an extended repair period. Despite extensive repairs and engine replacement, the vehicle subsequently experienced additional engine failure. As of September 3, 2026, the vehicle remains at Suburban Cadillac of Plymouth and has not been returned to me. The current repair involves installation of another replacement engine. My concern is that repeated engine replacements have not corrected the underlying reliability and safety problem. A vehicle that can suddenly lose propulsion while being driven in active traffic presents a serious risk to the driver, passengers, and surrounding motorists. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA has a record of the loss-of-propulsion incident, the repeated engine failures, and the multiple engine replacements involving this 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.;

The vehicle is currently displaying the following warning messages: "Service Leveling System" "Vehicle Too Low, Drive with Caution" In addition, the vehicle is visibly sitting lower than normal, indicating a potential suspension system failure. On September 20, 2023, NHTSA announced Recall Campaign Number 23V642000 related to improperly heat-treated rear suspension bolts that could fail and affect vehicle stability and safety. Based on the symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting, I believe it may be experiencing the same defect addressed by this recall. Given the similarity between the reported recall condition and the issues affecting my vehicle, I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter and determine whether my vehicle's VIN should be included in Recall 23V642000 or whether additional investigation is warranted.
