Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera. The video output may fail, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance with about 382,759 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera. The video output may fail, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.
Consequeces:: Loss of the rearview camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the image processing module (IPMB) software, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed April 25, 2023. Owner notification letters were mailed February 13, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S02. This recall expands and replaces NHTSA recall number 21V-735. Vehicles previously repaired under 21V-735 will need to have the new remedy performed.

2022 LINCOLN CORSAIR Complaints
Several problems have occurred, not sure if they are related or not. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. In my opinion as a retired mechanic the problem components might include transmission, torque converter, accelerator or any electrical components associated with these systems. There were no warning lamps or messages related to the situation before or since. The following are my descriptions of the two issues: 1) In every day around town driving, mostly at lower speeds or after coasting, the transmission jerks, stutters and chugs. The sensation feels exactly like driving with a manual trans and trying to start from a stop in third gear. Related or not, it also seems to have a rough and jerky downshift as the vehicle slows down to stop. It happens EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR, not just occasionally. 2) On a few other occasions, I stepped on the accelerator and got no response. One time I was at highway speed, let off to coast in traffic and got no response when I went to accelerate again. It felt like the transmission slipped into neutral or the ECM got no signal from the accelerator. I let off the accelerator and stepped on it again and it did accelerate the second time. In another situation, I was on a four-lane road attempting to turn left across two lanes of oncoming traffic. I was in a left turn lane on a green light, stopped and waiting for traffic to clear before starting to make my turn. As I let off the brake and started rolling to make my turn, an oncoming car changed lanes causing me to let off the gas momentarily. I was now into an oncoming traffic lane and when I went to accelerate the car did nothing. In fear of a head on collision I started to panic and stepped on the gas again with no response and then on a second attempt it did accelerate and I safely made my turn with horns blowing at me from the other car. That situation scared me half to death. Wickstrom Lincoln and Napleton Lincoln in Illinois have been unable to resolve.;
2023 FORD EXPLORER Complaints
Purchased new June 2023, took delivery October 2023 due to camera recall. Drive to work 5 miles a day, less than 10000 miles on it yet my driver side dash is now Ingles and rolling up. I see this is a common issue. I paid extra for the King Ranch edition. Seems this should be a dealer covered repair. I would like this looked into.;
2023 LINCOLN AVIATOR Complaints
When driving at night the driver side map light will turn on randomly momentarily blinding the driver only way to turn off is to turn on interior lights and turn off may happen again with in seconds or can be minutes but does it 8-10 times in a 30 minute driving time dealership says it’s not covered under warranty because it’s a light issue however acknowledges it’s a common problem and wants $1,727.07 dollars to fix it and seemed to know exactly what the problem is. But is very dangerous to point where my wife refuses to drive the vehicle at night because its bad enough that it blinds you but then you have to take eyes off road to find the button in the dark to turn it off;
