Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Rize and Scope camper vans. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,557 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Rize and Scope camper vans. The retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit.
Consequeces:: An awning extending unintentionally during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will install an additional ignition cutoff wire harness at the BT12 module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 28, 2023. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000289.

2023 THOR MOTOR COACH RIZE Complaints
NHTSA has previously issued a recall on the failed LP hose on Rise/Scope vehicles 21V-755. For some reason, my vehicle/VIN was not included in the recall. Nevertheless, I experienced the identical failure described in the recall, but I take exception to the recall pointing to the tight bend in the hose being the issue. My hose is literally disintegrating for the full length of the hose. It appears that the rubber is defective. My vehicle had about 7500 miles on it and hadn't been driven in bad weather when I experienced the leak. Photos are attached. I think NHTSA should revisit this recall and ensure that it is expanded to include all vehicles that might have this part, plus not blame the issue on the hose bend. I kept the hose and can send it for evaluation if needed. For the record, my hose leaked catastrophically when I switched on the gas, and if an ignition source was nearby, a fire certainly could have resulted from this failure.;
2023 THOR MOTOR COACH SCOPE Complaints
Fuel line to generator is long rubber hose rubbing on screws. Same with electrical wires. Exhaust from generator and vehicle coming back in from exposed holes in floor under cabinetry. I have informed THOR motor coach. This vehicle is unsafe and could catch fire due to rubber fuel line leaking onto exposed electrical connections or exhaust. Holes in floor for tubes and electrical are not sealed allowing fumes to come in. Couch that has seatbelts attached, metal is cut into two parts allowing seat belts to pull on separate metal bars that would break loose. Metal bar should be solid across, cut out is hidden by couch. Wires behind cabinetry floats around, nothing to hold them from flopping around eventually causing shorts. With as many unsafe issues, it would appear no one has inspected these changes THOR has made to the Dodge Promaster.;
