Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2023 Granite (GR) vehicles. The front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.
The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 17 units affected.

- Description:
- Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2023 Granite (GR) vehicles. The front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.
- Consequeces:
- Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Corrective action:
- Dealers will replace and tighten the axle fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 20, 2023. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0441.
