Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 167,085 units affected.

Description:: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles. The windshield wiper motor may operate intermittently or fail to operate due to snow or ice buildup on the windshield, causing the wipers to fail.
Consequeces:: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the driver-side windshield wiper arm, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 243. This recall is an expansion of recall number 22V-627.

I am reporting an unresolved safety issue involving the seat belt buckle recall on my 2023 Hyundai Palisade (NHTSA Recall 25V-607 / Hyundai Campaign 283). For several months, I have repeatedly contacted Hyundai Myrtle Beach attempting to have the recall repair completed. I do not have the exact dates of every telephone call, but there have been multiple attempts. I was repeatedly advised that the necessary replacement parts were unavailable. The situation is particularly concerning because the front passenger seat belt is now not functioning properly. This is no longer only a potential recall-related safety concern; there is currently a seating position in my vehicle where the seat belt cannot be relied upon to function properly. I transport my children in this vehicle and am concerned about their safety. After repeated unsuccessful attempts through the dealership, I escalated the matter to Hyundai Consumer Affairs. Consumer Affairs arranged an appointment several weeks in advance for September 1, 2026, at Hyundai Myrtle Beach. My Consumer Affairs representative confirmed that the recall repair would be performed at this appointment. I drove to the dealership for the scheduled appointment expecting the vehicle to be repaired. Upon arrival, I was informed that the dealership did not have the replacement seat belt parts and could not perform the repair. Despite repeated attempts through both the dealership and Hyundai Consumer Affairs, the recall remains unrepaired and the front passenger seat belt remains nonfunctional. I am concerned about Hyundai’s ability to provide this safety recall remedy, particularly when a seat belt has already malfunctioned, and whether other Palisade owners are experiencing similar delays. I am requesting that NHTSA review Hyundai’s handling and parts availability for this recall.;
