Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Thor Rize and Scope motorhomes. The solar panel frame may fracture around the mounting bolts, allowing the panel to detach from the vehicle.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,295 units affected.

Description:: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Thor Rize and Scope motorhomes. The solar panel frame may fracture around the mounting bolts, allowing the panel to detach from the vehicle.
Consequeces:: A detached solar panel can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the lower bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 9, 2024. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000298.

2023 THOR MOTOR COACH RIZE Complaints
NHTSA has previously issued a recall on the failed LP hose on Rise/Scope vehicles 21V-755. For some reason, my vehicle/VIN was not included in the recall. Nevertheless, I experienced the identical failure described in the recall, but I take exception to the recall pointing to the tight bend in the hose being the issue. My hose is literally disintegrating for the full length of the hose. It appears that the rubber is defective. My vehicle had about 7500 miles on it and hadn't been driven in bad weather when I experienced the leak. Photos are attached. I think NHTSA should revisit this recall and ensure that it is expanded to include all vehicles that might have this part, plus not blame the issue on the hose bend. I kept the hose and can send it for evaluation if needed. For the record, my hose leaked catastrophically when I switched on the gas, and if an ignition source was nearby, a fire certainly could have resulted from this failure.;
2024 THOR MOTOR COACH SCOPE Complaints
The 2022 RAM Promaster 1500 was converted by Thor Industries to a 2024 Thor Scope 18M in spring 2023 before I purchased it from a dealer in Connecticut. However, information concerning this conversion was not shared with the federal government as the vehicle VIN still lists it as a Promaster 1500. This caused me to miss notification for NHTSA Campaign Number 25V792000 involving a potential travel hazard created by adhesive failure leading to solar panel detachment. While traveling south to St. Johns, New Brunswick, Canada on [XXX] on [XXX], the panel on the roof did detach when the vehicle I was driving was passed by a bus. The incident occurred on a lightly traveled section of road and did not result in additional damage.
