General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 GMC Hummer EV pick up, 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, and 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV vehicles. The left or right front seat belt buckle attachment bolts may not be tightened properly.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 115 units affected.

Description:: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 GMC Hummer EV pick up, 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, and 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV vehicles. The left or right front seat belt buckle attachment bolts may not be tightened properly.
Consequeces:: An improperly tightened seat belt buckle may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will tighten the left and right front seat belt buckle attachment bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2023. 2023 GMC HUMMER EV PICKUP Complaints
My 2023 GMC Hummer EV 3X has experienced repeated thermal-protection failures in the high-voltage battery and drive-motor cooling system, causing the vehicle to enter limp mode and drop to as low as 12 mph without warning. Stored fault codes: P0C12, P0C13, P2EE0, P2EE1 (battery and drive-unit overheating). A sudden, unannounced drop to 12 mph in a 9,000-lb EV is a serious safety hazard — on highways it creates rear-end collision risk, in intersections it leaves the vehicle stranded in traffic, and on remote roads it can strand the driver with no safe shoulder. Visit 1 (Covert Buick GMC of Bee Cave, TX): 02/09/2026–03/24/2026, 43 days out of service. Repairs: replaced both EV coolant pumps (PN 85605761), replaced Drive Motor Inverter Module 2 (PN 24059125), coolant flush, software update. RO #BUCS138101. GM TAC Case #88689105. Six days after return, on 03/30/2026, the same defect recurred with the same fault codes. Vehicle has now been back at the dealer 38+ additional days with no resolution. GM had pre-sale knowledge of this exact defect on this exact VIN. The vehicle was a GM corporate evaluation unit (factory option code OAR — EVALUATION VEHICLE) operated out of GM Tech Center in Warren, MI. GM took it out of service on 08/07/2025 at 30,169 miles. I took delivery 16 miles later at 30,185 miles. A GM Driver Inspection Form left inside the vehicle at delivery is handwritten with "Limited Speed 12 mph" — the exact limp-mode behavior. GM auctioned the vehicle through CVO Warren Distribution Center without disclosing this condition. I request ODI open a preliminary evaluation of cooling-system thermal-protection failures on 2022–2024 Hummer EV Pickups and SUVs, particularly units with prior corporate/fleet use.;
2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EV Complaints
I own a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV WT equipped with the OEM soft tonneau cover. The original cover and its warranty replacement have both failed in the same way. The cover material appears to shrink over time so that the side flaps will no longer reach and stay attached to the Velcro along the bed rails. At highway speeds the cover flaps and “balloons” upward, and the Velcro strips will not stay connected even when properly installed and tightened. The dealer has already replaced the cover once under warranty, but the replacement has the same problems. This suggests a design or materials defect, not a one-time bad part or installation error. In my opinion, the flapping and ballooning could allow the cover to come loose or detach at speed, which could create a road hazard for other drivers. I am asking NHTSA to track these failures and evaluate whether the OEM soft tonneau cover on the Silverado EV presents a safety risk similar to prior GM tonneau cover issues where covers detached while driving.;
2024 GMC HUMMER EV SUV Complaints
During the morning drive, while in one pedal driving mode, the need to apply more brake due to a quick change of traffic lights occurred. The brakes felt hard and the vehicle did not feel like it was stopping as quickly as it normally would. When I parked the vehicle and exited no warning lights or other items were shown on the dash. Once I got back in the vehicle, a MIL light was lit and the "Service Brake Assist" message was displayed. With the vehicle running, it would not move either forward or reverse. Multiple attempts were made to move the vehicle, it was blocking a flow of truck traffic at the business. No movement occurred. OnStar was contacted for road side assistance and a Wrecker was dispatched. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection and repair. Still waiting on what the issue with the vehicle is. I felt my personal safety was at risk for the slow braking/hard pedal and also when parked and the vehicle immobilized.;
