Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2018-2020 Genesis G80

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Genesis G80, 2017-2022 G90, and 2019-2022 G70 vehicles equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 turbocharged engine. The left turbocharger oil feed pipe may deteriorate and leak oil.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 28,439 units affected.

Description:: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Genesis G80, 2017-2022 G90, and 2019-2022 G70 vehicles equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 turbocharged engine. The left turbocharger oil feed pipe may deteriorate and leak oil.
Consequeces:: An oil leak in the presence of hot engine components can increase the risk of an engine compartment fire.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the left turbocharger oil feed pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 3, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 019G. This recall expands and replaces recall number 19V-538. Vehicles previously repaired under 19V-538 will need to have the new remedy completed.

But it started by my car constantly burning all like a crazy amount and then I sort of having problems with like the air conditioner, not blowing cool because if I would circulate it in the car, it would not be cool and then I started having Coach go off code for my fuel sensor code for my CO2 sensor code for all different sensors every time I take it they would be trying to give me a change sensor and charging me $2000 to do this and charging me $1500 to do that and then then I find out that there is then someone finds a pipe with my turbo that is deteriorating and now they want to change that and it just keeps my motor keeps getting hot you getting excessively hot. I mean I’m going through two or 3 quarts of all a week and my car. I have four Genesis vehicles I have two G7 I have a G 80 and I have a GV 70 and this is the only one I’m having problems with and it is the and I’m very disappointed with the situation now because I feel like it’s just they just want me to keep putting money into this and I’m and now I’m gonna and my car is only four years old. It’s been paid off since I bought it and I’ve had no problems in all of a sudden. It’s like I’m gonna be out $6000 soon and it’s just I don’t understand why what’s going on and then I see that there’s a recall that I’m not part of with my VIN number, but yet every single one of the problems that I’m having is because of that and not to mention, they have me change all the sensors and stuff that I probably didn’t even need to change so I’m very outright right now because they’re trying to charge another $2000 to do this pipe when they done all these other things and they could’ve done the pipe first I feel like they’re just trying to get money out of me to mention now if I drive my car for more than 45 minutes, the engine light comes on and it goes into lag motor just started losing power and I have to pull over and Stop and they add oil and then I can drive again absolutely insane;
2022 GENESIS G90 Complaints
In June 2026, after warranty repairs were performed on the vehicle's navigation/display system, a new safety-related problem occurred. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the rearview/backup camera image does not appear on the display. Instead, the navigation map remains on the screen. The vehicle has been at an authorized Genesis dealership since June 4, 2026, and the backup camera problem remains unresolved. The dealership has reproduced and confirmed the problem. According to the dealership, it requested authorization from Genesis to replace the backup camera, but the request was not approved. The dealership later requested authorization to replace the wiring harness, but that request was also not approved, and the part was not ordered. I was told that Genesis has continued attempting to address the problem through software. The dealership also advised me that similar issues have been reported with other vehicles of the same model, although I cannot independently verify those cases. This creates a safety concern because the rearview camera does not provide a view of the area behind the vehicle when it is shifted into reverse, increasing the risk of striking a person, vehicle, or object while backing up. The vehicle remains available at the authorized Genesis dealership for inspection. As of August 20, 2026, it has been out of service for 78 days and no confirmed repair solution has been provided.;
