Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Altec LR7 and LR8 aerial devices. The hydraulic cylinder feeder tube routed near the cylinder rest bracket may become damaged and leak oil, which can result in uncontrolled boom movement.
The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,128 units affected.

- Description:
- Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Altec LR7 and LR8 aerial devices. The hydraulic cylinder feeder tube routed near the cylinder rest bracket may become damaged and leak oil, which can result in uncontrolled boom movement.
- Consequeces:
- Uncontrolled movement of the boom can increase the risk of injury.
- Corrective action:
- Altec will replace the cylinder rest pad and the feeder tube if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 22, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3142.
