Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2024 Forest River Salem

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Forest River Salem, Wildwood, and Stealth EVO travel trailers. The Federal Placard may state an incorrect rim size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 35 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024 Forest River Salem, Wildwood, and Stealth EVO travel trailers. The Federal Placard may state an incorrect rim size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequeces:: An incorrect rim size on the label may result in the wrong wheels being installed, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will install new Federal Placards, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 19, 2024. Owners may contact customer service at 1-503-831-5413. Forest River's number for this recall is 22-1808.

2024 FOREST RIVER SALEM Complaints
Fireplace within entertainment center/slide began to work only on low. Cleaned unit, had to pull access panel to access electrical outlet that fireplace was plugged into. Found a browned outlet face. Turned off circuit, pulled outlet and found a charred electrical line and back of outlet. This was probably moments from being a fire. Attempted to contact Forest River - Salem Cruise Lite division but never received any communication back.;
2024 FOREST RIVER WILDWOOD Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 Forest River Wildwood Trailer. The contact stated that excessive heat generated by the oven and there was no venting system around the appliance. The contact stated that during normal operation, the heat buildup caused melting of the backsplash behind the oven and melting and heat damage beneath an adjacent drawer. The contact stated that smoke, overheating, and melting were observed. No fire had occurred; however, the contact expressed concerns that there was a potential fire hazard. The trailer was permanently parked and was not inspected. A repair shop inspected the trailer onsite and advised the contact that the oven, backsplash, and venting system needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer advised using smaller pots while operating the oven; however, the contact remained concerned that the lack of venting had not been addressed. The contact stated that the manufacturer declined the warranty coverage or goodwill assistance to repair the RV. The RV was not repaired.;
