Gulf States Toyota, Inc. is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra

Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain Toyota 2023 GR Supra, 2024 4 Runner, Corolla, Grand Highlander, Grand Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser Hybrid, Tacoma, Tacoma Hybrid, 2023-2024 BZ4X, Corolla Cross Hybrid, GR Corolla, GR86, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, Sequoia Hybrid, Tundra, Tundra Hybrid, Venza Hybrid, 2023-2025 Crown, and 2025 Camry Hybrid vehicles equipped with GST accessories. The load carrying capacity modification label may display inaccurate added weight values. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 33,848 units affected.

Consequeces:: A vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: GST will mail new labels to owners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 16, 2024. Owners may contact GST customer service at 1-800-444-1074. GST's number for this recall is 24R2.

2024 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Complaints
Last October we purchased a new 4 Runner (vin [XXX] ) and to date we have a little over 200 miles on it. The primary issue surrounding the lack of usage is that the running boards “platform" does not extend far enough out from the body. My wife has an extremely hard time both entering and exiting the vehicle, as the surface area is too narrow at 2 3/4". Even placing your foot parallel with the board is a challenge. On exiting there is a safety hazard as one's heel slips off of the rounded edge. The boards are six inches wide with three inches under the rocker panels. Not certain why this was designed this way as there is zero adjustment on the brackets. This is a potential slip and fall issue. 2024 TOYOTA BZ4X Complaints
I was driving during heavy rain when I heard and felt a big thump. I wasn't sure what happened as I did not hit anything in the road. I was in my neighborhood driving at low speeds (<30mph). When I got home, I realized my fender liners and lower splash guard of my car were missing. I went back out to retrieve these pieces of my car, and it appeared the fender liners and the splash guard got torn off my car without impact with anything, as nothing was in the road near it. I was going to attempt to reconnect them but the plastic clips on the front bumper also ripped off, making this a very expensive repair requiring bumper replacement and sensor recalibration. This obviously could put others at risk of running over a large number of components that were left in the road. I read many other instances of other people with the same vehicle (as well as with the Solterra) having an issue where the felt fender liners can become saturated with water, sag, and get caught in the wheels, ripping them off. I was one of those unlucky people to lose both sides and the splash guard all at the same time. The dealership / body shop inspected the vehicle. No warnings at all - just sudden ingestion of the fender liners into my drivetrain.;
2024 TOYOTA COROLLA Complaints
In a 2024 Corolla the spiral cable (clock spring) is defective. It controls the airbag, cruise control, horn and more, so it is an important safety mechanism electrical part. Toyota USA is on back order for this part for at least a month, maybe two. This suggests to me that there is a widespread problem with defective Toyota Corolla spiral cables (clock spring) inside the steering wheel. People are driving around with this defective part while waiting for the part to arrive in the US, and will need to pay upwards of $1000 to have the defective part replaced.;
2024 TOYOTA COROLLA CROSS HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH, the steering wheel suddenly malfunctioned and erroneously self-turned to the left, causing the vehicle to crash into a pole, where the vehicle came to a stop. The damage was to the front of the vehicle. During the incident, no injuries were reported, and no police report was taken. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 5,700.;
