Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles. The hood latch assembly may fail to detect an unlatched hood condition after the hood has been opened.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,849,638 units affected.

Description:: Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles. The hood latch assembly may fail to detect an unlatched hood condition after the hood has been opened.
Consequeces:: An unlatched hood can fully open, obstructing the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 24, 2024. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-012.

BOTH FRONT TIRES ON MY 2024 TESLA MODEL 3 PERFORMANCE DEVELOPED STRUCTURAL BULGES ON THE INBOARD SIDEWALL AT UNDER 19,000 MILES. THE TIRES ARE THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT PIRELLI P ZERO 235/35R20 DELIVERED WITH THE VEHICLE ON 12/07/2024. ON 08/05/2026 AT 18,951 MILES, TESLA SERVICE IN DORAL, FLORIDA INSPECTED AND ROAD-TESTED THE VEHICLE FOR A METALLIC RUBBING NOISE THAT INCREASES WITH SPEED AND ALSO OCCURS AT LOW SPEED AT FULL STEERING LOCK UNDER ACCELERATION. TESLA'S OWN REPAIR NOTES ON INVOICE 3000S0017877728 STATE THAT THE NOISE WAS DUPLICATED ON THE ROAD TEST AND APPEARS TO ORIGINATE FROM DEFORMED FRONT TIRES. TESLA TOOK NO ALIGNMENT MEASUREMENT AND THE INVOICE CONTAINS NO CAMBER, CASTER OR TOE READINGS. THE SAME INVOICE RECORDS TIRE PRESSURES OF 40.2, 39.9, 40.6 AND 39.9 PSI, SO UNDERINFLATION IS NOT A FACTOR. THE FAILURES ARE SYMMETRIC: SAME AXLE, SAME INBOARD FACE, BOTH SIDES, AT THE SAME TIME, WHICH IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH ISOLATED INDEPENDENT ROAD HAZARD IMPACTS. THE BULGES ARE ON THE INNER FACE AND ARE NOT VISIBLE DURING A NORMAL WALK-AROUND INSPECTION. TESLA STATES IT PROVIDES NO WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR TIRES AND DECLINED ANY VEHICLE-SIDE DIAGNOSIS. A SIDEWALL BULGE IS A SUDDEN BLOWOUT RISK, AND TWO OF THEM ON THE STEERING AXLE OF A HIGH PERFORMANCE VEHICLE CAPABLE OF HIGHWAY SPEED IS A SAFETY DEFECT CONCERN. OTHER TESLA OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME INBOARD SIDEWALL BULGE PATTERN AT LOW MILEAGE ON 20-INCH WHEELS, SOME AS EARLY AS 7,000 MILES. I REQUEST THAT NHTSA REVIEW WHETHER FRONT SUSPENSION GEOMETRY OR THE TIRE AND WHEEL PACKAGE ON THIS VEHICLE CONTRIBUTES TO PREMATURE INBOARD SIDEWALL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE REMAINS UNDER ITS 4-YEAR/50,000-MILE BASIC VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY.;
2024 TESLA MODEL S Complaints
2024 Tesla Model S. Repeated rear tire and rear wheel failures with abnormal wear and possible rear alignment or suspension-related defect. Tesla service history shows repeated rear tire replacements beginning at about 5,165 miles, a later four-wheel alignment, a right rear tire replacement for uneven tire wear under the basic vehicle warranty at about 21,594 miles, a documented bent left rear wheel at about 27,047 miles, a left rear wheel replacement due to crack after a low-pressure/PULL OVER SAFELY alert at about 30,489 miles, and then a right rear tire blowout at about 38,358 miles. In the same March 12, 2026 service record, Tesla also noted inner sidewall damage on the opposite rear tire. Concern is an unresolved recurring rear tire, wheel, alignment, or suspension defect creating blowout risk and unsafe operation. Tesla has replaced tires and wheels but has not identified or corrected the root cause.;
2024 TESLA MODEL X Complaints
On XXX, at approximately 3:30 PM while using FSD (Supervised) on software 2026.21.6, my Tesla Model X came to a sudden complete stop in the middle of a busy four-lane intersection. I had to intervene. The FSD feedback prompt appeared; I selected Critical. Approximately one mile later, while programming a destination, FSD pulled over unsafely on a busy multi-lane road with barely enough room for 50 mph traffic. I intervened again and selected Critical on the prompt. Neither event appears in the Dashcam Viewer (only Sentry parking clips visible). These continue a pattern. Previously, while driving from [XXX] to [XXX], the car jumped across freeway lanes unsafely. I reported it via the Tesla app and to Cathedral City Service. Technicians lacked diagnostic equipment, said they would escalate to the FSD team for research, and promised to realign the front cameras on a return visit. Months later: no follow-up and cameras still cosmetically misaligned. Camera Calibration menu only shows Clear option (I did not clear it). I have submitted a Service request and emailed Tesla requesting internal logs/telemetry and full escalation. Filing this for an independent record. 2024 TESLA MODEL Y Complaints
My 2024 Tesla Model Y (VIN [XXX]) has lost all forward camera-based safety and driver assistance functions. The vehicle displays alerts that Automatic Emergency Braking is unavailable, Park Assist is unavailable, adaptive headlight features are unavailable, and that self-driving is degrading and the vehicle may stop. Autopilot and Full Self-Driving will not engage. The side repeater cameras and the rearview camera still display images normally on the touchscreen, so the failure is not a loss of video display. The loss of Automatic Emergency Braking and forward collision warning means the vehicle has no automated protection against a frontal collision, and the loss of adaptive headlights and auto high beam means the high beams no longer dim for oncoming traffic. I performed a touchscreen reboot and a full power-off reset, and the condition returned. The vehicle is equipped with HW4 hardware and falls within the model years covered by NHTSA campaign 25V002000 (Tesla SB-25-00-001) concerning a computer circuit board short, though my VIN was not included in that recall population. I am reporting this because a vehicle sold with these active safety systems is now operating without them, and I believe other owners of vehicles in this build range may be experiencing the same failure.
