BMW of North America (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2024 X1, 2024-2025 X5, 2025 X6, 2023-2025 X7, 740i, 760i, 2024 XM, 530i, 540i, i7, 750e, X2, 2024-2025 i5, 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre, 2025 MINI Countryman S ALL4, JCW Countryman ALL4, and 2025 MINI Hardtop 2 Door (Cooper, Cooper S) vehicles. Please refer to the recall report for the complete list of models. The welds in the servomotor of the integrated brake control module may break, causing a loss of power brake assist and rear brake function. In addition, the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system may not function.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 309 units affected.

In addition, the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system may not function.
Consequeces:: A loss of brake power assist or rear brake function can result in extended stopping distance. A loss of ABS or DSC can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the integrated brake system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 13, 2024. Owners can contact BMW Customer Service at 1-800-525-7417.

2024 BMW 530I Complaints
Concern: The 2024 BMW 530i is equipped with "Dynamic Cruise Control" and a "Speed Limit Assistant." The system is designed to automatically adopt posted speed limits and adjust the cruise control set speed. However, because this specific trim lacks a radar-based distance-monitoring sensor (Active Cruise Control), the vehicle initiates aggressive, unintended acceleration toward slower-moving traffic or stopped obstacles whenever it detects a higher speed limit sign. Safety Risk: While the vehicle is using its cameras to "see" and adopt an external speed command, it remains "blind" to the actual traffic directly in its path. This creates a high risk of rear-end collisions, as the car will prioritize reaching the new speed limit even if it means accelerating directly into the bumper of a lead vehicle. Proposed Solution: A "Dynamic" cruise control system that has the authority to control acceleration based on external data MUST also have the authority to maintain a safe following distance. I propose that BMW should be required to include distance-monitoring features in all cruise control systems that utilize automated speed adoption. If the hardware for distance-keeping is not present, the car should not be permitted to automatically increase speed based on roadside signs. Inspection Status: The vehicle is available for inspection. No warning lamps appeared prior to these incidents, as the system is operating exactly as programmed by the manufacturer, which highlights a fundamental logic and design failure.;
2024 BMW 540I Complaints
I reserved this vehicle with a deposit on Oct. 26. At the time I was told the vehicle was under recall/stop sale for a brake issue and I would not be able to take delivery until the recall work was performed. On 11/5, I was able to purchase the vehicle after the repair work was done. After leaving the dealership, about a half mile down the road I received a message on the vehicle display which said "Brake fluid level low. Have the problem checked by the nearest service center." The message also advised that I could continue driving the vehicle. I returned to the dealership and the car was inspected for roughly 30 mins. The vehicle was released to me and the message was gone. I was advised that the vehicle probably needed brake fluid from the recall repair. On 11/7, while driving I received the same Brake fluid level low message from the vehicle. I contacted the dealership and drove to the dealership to have the vehicle looked at again. About a mile from the dealership, as I applied the brakes, the vehicle suddenly generated a number of messages including "Brake system malfunction, stop carefully. Do not continue driving". At this point the brake pedal fell to the floor. I was able to stop the vehicle by applying a large amount of force to the brake pedal and was able to get to a nearby parking lot. I was very lucky and I would have been unable to prevent a crash under many circumstances. The braking power was almost completely gone from the vehicle. I returned the vehicle to the dealership and they reversed the transaction. From what I read online, the symptoms I experienced were exactly the same as those who experienced the brake failure which led to the recall. This car was either not fixed correctly or (even worse) the BMW remedy for the recall suffers the same potential problem as the original recall. In the second case, I believe this is a very dangerous situation.;
2024 BMW 750E Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 BMW 750E. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the high-voltage system warning light illuminated. The contact continued to drive the vehicle a short distance, and then the drive train warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the warning instructed the contact to contact the local service center. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was safe to drive. The contact stated that approximately three days later, while driving at an undisclosed speed with the cruise control feature enabled, the unattended driver warning light illuminated. The message indicated that 911 was being called, and the engine seized. The contact stated that the engine seized in the middle of the street. The contact stated that after waiting for several minutes, the vehicle was started and the vehicle was driven to a safe location. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the error messages were displayed due to the way the contact was driving. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,100.;
2024 BMW I7 Complaints
[XXX] Problem: Multiple tire blowouts causing safety hazards and air-suspension damage Complaint Summary: My 2024 BMW i7 has experienced multiple tire blowouts, including the most recent , two within days of each other (12/8/2025 and 12/10/2025). On 12/8/2025, BMW replaced the right rear tire and advised me that the vehicle was safe to drive. Two days later, the left rear tire suffered the same sudden failure, requiring another tow. These failures occurred during normal driving and immediately after BMW dealership inspection and clearance. In addition to these recent events, earlier blowouts on this vehicle have already caused damage to the air-suspension system, requiring repairs. This indicates the issue is not normal tire wear but a recurring safety defect involving the vehicle’s weight, load distribution, tire load rating, or compatibility with the i7’s unusually high curb weight. The repeated failures and resulting suspension damage raise concerns about a broader defect in the design, load-bearing capability, or inspection procedures for this model. This vehicle is unsafe to operate, and the recurring blowouts place my family and other motorists at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the BMW i7 has a systemic safety issue related to tire integrity, load capacity, or suspension stress under normal driving conditions. 2024 BMW X1 Complaints
2024 BMW X1 xDrive, 8000 miles, original tires. Front right tire wear to 2.7mm, front left tire wear to 4mm, and rear tires wear to 5mm. AWD vehicle where fronts should not be significantly outpacing rear wear. Left-right asymmetry on front axle suggests alignment issue. Dealer and BWM North America refused in investigation and call it normal. Requesting NHTSA agent review and case escalation.;
