Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2024 G5 school buses. The engine drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loose drive belt.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 96 units affected.

Description:
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2024 G5 school buses. The engine drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loose drive belt.
Consequeces:
A loose drive belt can result in a loss of power steering, or a loss of alternator and water pump function, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the engine may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Corrective action:
Dealers will replace the engine drive belt tensioner and belt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 6, 2024. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-111-GUS.
