Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 S 500, Maybach S 580 4MATIC, 2021-2023 S 580 4MATIC, 2022 S 680 4MATIC, and 2023 S 580e 4MATIC vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 20,339 units affected.

Description:: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2022 S 500, Maybach S 580 4MATIC, 2021-2023 S 580 4MATIC, 2022 S 680 4MATIC, and 2023 S 580e 4MATIC vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.
Consequeces:: A brake fluid leak can extend the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the front brake hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025030007.

2022 MERCEDES-BENZ S 500 Complaints
The factory upgrade 21 inch spoke wheels with Pirelli P-Zero low profile tires are averaging a blow out every 800 miles. 5 flats and 2 sidewall blisters in the last 10,000 miles. Pirelli P-Zero 255/35/R21 Front and 285/30/R21 Rear are all four available for inspection if you tell me to save them before I replace them. There have been thousands of complaints and law suits re this issue just in the last 5 years on mercedes cars with low profile tires; to Mercedes, Pirelli, through legal discovery, to enthusiasts forums, and to NHTSA My first blowout was at 30 mph hitting a 1 1/2" deep pothole full of rain water. That one blew out the front right and blistered the sideall of the right rear at once. Then one of the new replacements blew on hitting a storm drain set 1" into the pavement on the way home from the dealership. I've been driving 60 years, and never had a single pothole blowout before now. Sidewall tears release all or most of the air at once creating an extremely dangerous situation. Somebody will lose control and hurt or kill someone, or behurt while stopped in an unsafe spot. Since the car can't be towed and has no spare, it is exteremely costly and inconvenient to replace a tire. It has cost me thousands so far, and left my disabled wife and me stranded beside the highway. Car is on a flat and one and a blister on a second tire right now in driveway. Best fix is to go to a square wheel/tire fitment using 19" x 8.5" wheels with 35 offset 66.6 mm bore on all four, all season radials. To keep outside diamter the same for the computer, 255/45/R19 /AS/ XL W and with acoustic tuning or dampening to match the quiet factory tires on these cars. 20" wheels is no good, because to maintain diameter would require the same too short 35 sidewall profile on two of the tires. Staggered 19 inch wheels will work, but the square fitment allows for tire rotaion and for the carrying of a spare. Maybe make that optional for replacement recall.;
2022 MERCEDES-MAYBACH S 580 Complaints
I have had two separate incidents where the automatic braking system engaged causing vehicle to come to a complete stop almost causing me to get rear ended by another vehicle. The first time there was no sign of a vehicle in the front of me. It happened at about 55 miles an hour on the expressway. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they claim they haven't had any issues so they download some new software and said that should take care of the problem. The second time happened today. I was entering a roundabout at 15 miles an hour (there was a vehicle about 15 feet ahead of me) my vehicle suddenly stopped (vehicle behind me hit their brakes almost hitting me). I emailed the dealer a video clip of the incident but have had no response at this point. I have lost confidence in the safety of the vehicle at this point. I have a dash cam video I can send if needed.;
2022 MERCEDES-MAYBACH S 680 Complaints
While driving a 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S680 at approximately 40 to 65 mph, multiple advanced driver assistance and safety systems suddenly became inoperative at the same time. The vehicle displayed warnings including Active Steering Assist Inoperative, Active Brake Assist Functions Limited, Active Distance Assist Inoperative, Blind Spot Assist Inoperative, Lane Change Assist Unavailable, and Emergency Stop Assist Unavailable. These warnings appeared while the vehicle was in motion and reduced steering support, braking assistance, and collision avoidance functionality. The failures occurred without warning and created a safety concern because critical driver assistance systems were disabled during highway driving. The problem has occurred more than once and affects multiple electronic safety systems simultaneously.;
2023 MERCEDES-BENZ S 580 4MATIC Complaints
The sunroof shattered suddenly while driving. There was no external impact to the vehicle.;
