Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024-2025 AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and 2024 ID.4 vehicles. The on-board charger (OCDC) may fail and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which can result in a loss of drive power.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 13,769 units affected.

Description:: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2024-2025 AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and 2024 ID.4 vehicles. The on-board charger (OCDC) may fail and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Consequeces:: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the OCDC, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 20, 2025. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 or Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 93CJ. Audi's number for this recall is 93FR.

2024 VOLKSWAGEN ID.4 Complaints
While attempting to park in my driveway, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of braking. The brake pedal did not stop the vehicle, and pressing the electronic parking brake switch had no effect. The vehicle continued forward and crashed through my closed garage door. The only reason it stopped was because it struck another vehicle parked inside my garage. That impact pushed the parked vehicle into my garage refrigerator, which then damaged the drywall on the garage wall adjacent to my bedroom. None of the safety systems functioned as expected. The parking sensors did not activate, there were no proximity warnings, and the automatic emergency braking system did not engage. After the crash, I exited the vehicle, but it remained powered on instead of shutting down automatically. It only turned off after I got back into the vehicle and exited multiple times. This incident involved a total loss of hydraulic and regenerative braking, an unresponsive electronic parking brake switch, failure of the parking sensors and automatic emergency braking, and failure of the high-voltage shutdown sequence upon driver exit, resulting in a structural collision. The vehicle has been towed to the dealership and is available for inspection. I am awaiting the dealership's diagnosis and have also reported the incident to my insurance company. No warning lights or messages appeared before the failure. This malfunction created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in severe injury or death if anyone had been in the vehicle's path.;
2025 AUDI Q4 E-TRON Complaints
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my leased 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron, leased new with under 500 miles and now at approximately 8,200 miles. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has ongoing brake-related issues affecting low-speed operation: a rough or grinding brake pedal feel and intermittent brake squeal during rolling stops, turns, and parking maneuvers. The most concerning issue is unexpected parking brake or emergency braking activation during low-speed pull-off and parking maneuvers, causing the vehicle to abruptly jolt to a stop. This has happened approximately four times between March and July 2026, beginning around 6,000 miles, including while pulling to the roadside and while parking with my foot already on the brake. No other vehicle was nearby during these events, and the behavior is not consistent or predictable, creating a risk of unexpected stopping during normal low-speed operation. This does not match normal EV regenerative braking based on my experience with other EVs, including another Q4 e-tron, and appears specific to this vehicle. I reported these concerns to authorized Audi dealers and Audi Customer Experience. In February 2026 I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealer for a brake-related appointment; a technician did not inspect it because the service associate said he did not think anything was wrong, and I later learned the appointment was canceled rather than documented. I also raised these concerns with a second authorized dealer during a one-year service visit and on two additional occasions. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer to my knowledge, and has not been inspected by police, insurance, or an independent service center. I am not aware of warning lamps before the jolting events. I am concerned the vehicle may have a defect involving the service brakes, parking brake, emergency braking system, software, sensors, or control-system behavior.;
2025 AUDI Q4 SPORTBACK E-TRON Complaints
Vehicle fail to start in drive mode. Noticed "Electrical System malfunction" error. Notified Audi chantilly. So far they didn't provide any loaner vehicle from Audi.;
