Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, 2025 Campsite Reserve, Impression, Pause, Puma, Sabre, Salem, Vengeance, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers, equipped with a removable step assembly. The clip-on bracket mounting bolts may come loose, allowing the steps to detach.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 4,179 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Catalina, Forest River Aurora, Cascade, Cedar Creek, Cherokee, Sandpiper, Sierra, 2025 Campsite Reserve, Impression, Pause, Puma, Sabre, Salem, Vengeance, and Wildwood fifth wheel and travel trailers, equipped with a removable step assembly. The clip-on bracket mounting bolts may come loose, allowing the steps to detach.
Consequeces:: Steps that detach while in use increase the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the clip-on bracket as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. 2025 FOREST RIVER AURORA Complaints
The contact owns a 2025 Forest River Aurora Trailer. The contact stated that while his son was towing the trailer at an undisclosed speed, the front driver’s side wheel and the passenger’s side front wheels separated from the axle, causing the trailer to drag on the road. The contact stated that his son sent pictures that showed the six wheel lugs on both wheels had sheared off. The contact stated that his son had not taken the trailer to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The trailer was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.;
2025 FOREST RIVER CAMPSITE RESERVE Complaints
The contact owns a 2025 Forest River Campsite Reserve. The contact stated that upon delivery of the brand-new RV, the contact noticed that the RV was experiencing several failures. The contact stated that the living room slide-out leaked into the living room and into the kitchen. The bedroom slide-out leaked through the bedroom. There were screws detaching from the floor. A door was opening into a glass window without a door stop. The floor in the dinette area was fractured. Additionally, the air conditioner vent was leaking into the RV while blowing cold air. The air conditioner at the top of the RV was leaking on the sliding door and into the camper. The windows caulking was defective, causing air to come through the sides of the windows. The bottom drainpipes appeared separated and needed to be re-glued. The sliding doors failed to latch and lock securely. The entertainment center door with the television and fireplace attached had detached from the hinges due to missing screws, and almost injured the contact's wife. The vehicle was towed to the dealer several times; however, the dealer only installed a door stop to prevent the door from opening into a glass window. Additionally, the mobile technician inspected the RV at the residence and took pictures of the failures, but no repair was performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The contact stated that the manufacturer had become unreachable. The failure mileage was unknown.;
2025 FOREST RIVER CEDAR CREEK Complaints
The contact owns a 2025 Forest River Cedar Creek Trailer. The contact stated that the trailer failed the annual Pennsylvania Inspection in November 2025 due to bent rear axle springs, primarily affecting the driver’s side rear axle spring assembly. The trailer was equipped with two axles. The contact stated that the springs installed on the trailer were not appropriate for the trailer weight rating. The manufacturer was notified of the failure in November 2025 and the contact had ongoing dialogue with the manufacturer about the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer offered to replace part rather than address the underlying issue regarding the spring weight capacity and requested the contact sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA); however, the contact refused to sign the NDA. The trailer was not repaired. The contact stated that the trailer was inoperable and needed to be towed. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.;
