Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2022-2025 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 1,076,138 units affected.

Description:: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco, F-150, 2021-2024 Edge, 2022-2025 Escape, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, F-600, 2022-2024 Expedition, 2022-2025 Transit, 2021-2023 Mach-E, 2024 Ranger, Mustang, 2021-2023 Lincoln Nautilus, 2022-2024 Navigator, and 2023-2024 Corsair vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera image to delay, freeze, or not display when the vehicle is in reverse.
Consequeces:: A frozen or missing rearview camera image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: The accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update, free of charge. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on June 26, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the final remedy is available on each phase. Owner notification letters were sent on October 8, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S49.

2023 FORD MUSTANG MACH E Complaints
My 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT experienced a sudden electronic parking brake failure. The vehicle displayed a parking brake fault warning, and the electronic parking brake became stuck in the engaged position and would not release despite repeated attempts and restarting the vehicle. The failure completely immobilized the vehicle and required Ford Roadside Assistance to tow it to an authorized Ford dealership. The Ford dealer diagnosed the issue in writing as: “REAR EPB HARNESS CORRODED; STARTING TO CORRODE ON RR AS WELL; RECOMMEND REPLACING BOTH REAR PIGTAILS WITH UPDATED STYLE.” The dealer therefore found corrosion affecting the electronic parking brake wiring on one rear side and corrosion beginning on the other side. Both rear EPB pigtails are being replaced with an updated-style component. This failure appears substantially similar to the electronic parking brake wiring/connector issue Ford previously identified in Customer Satisfaction Program 22P31 for certain earlier Mustang Mach-E vehicles. Ford's documentation for 22P31 states that damage to the EPB wiring can result in a parking brake malfunction and, in some cases, an inability to disengage the parking brake. My 2023 vehicle is apparently not included in that program despite experiencing a very similar failure mode. I am submitting this complaint because corrosion of the electronic parking brake wiring on a relatively new vehicle resulted in the parking brake becoming permanently engaged and the vehicle being completely immobilized. The dealer also found corrosion developing on the opposite-side EPB wiring and recommended replacement of both sides with updated-style pigtails. I believe NHTSA should evaluate whether this EPB wiring/connector corrosion condition extends to 2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles beyond the population originally identified by Ford.;
2023 LINCOLN NAUTILUS Complaints
Rear passenger side seat belt buckle sits so low in the seat that it is almost impossible for some passengers (elderly or children) to buckle it. Lincoln and Ford and everyone else do not make a seat belt extender that fits it.;
2024 FORD BRONCO SPORT Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost drive power and failed to accelerate properly. The App notified the driver of the powertrain failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with powertrain failure. The dealer replaced the knock sensor approximately 5 - 6 times but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, Ed Morse Ford Sierra Vista (100 AZ-90, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635); to be diagnosed, and the knock sensor was replaced. The second dealer had also replaced the engine twice, but the failure reoccurred while driving approximately 70 MPH, and the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to a third dealer, Jim Click Ford (6244 E 22nd St Tuscan AZ 85711). The dealer diagnosed that the fuel system and computer calibration had not been completed and corrected the issue. The following day, the powertrain failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was towed back to the third dealer. The contact was informed that the knock sensors and the powertrain control module needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was still not running properly, and the dealer replaced the engine again. The vehicle was returned to the owner, and the powertrain failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was taken to the fourth dealer, Fairway Ford (2323 Laurens Rd, Greenville, SC 29607), who replaced the same parts as the third dealer. However, shortly after retrieving the vehicle, the engine lost drive power again. The dealer was contacted, and the dealer then referred the contact to another dealer. After speaking with the manufacturer several times, the contact reached out to the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer instructed the dealer not to make any additional repairs to the vehicle even though the vehicle had an extended warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.;
2024 FORD EDGE Complaints
Vehicle Information Year: 2024 Make: Ford Model: Edge VIN: [XXX] Description of the Safety Issue I am submitting this complaint regarding the unexpected failure of the panoramic glass roof on my 2024 Ford Edge. The vehicle was parked in my residential driveway. As I began backing out of the driveway, I heard a very loud explosion or bang. I immediately stopped and inspected the vehicle. I discovered that the panoramic glass roof had shattered outward. There had been no collision, no rollover, no object striking the vehicle, and no severe weather. The vehicle had simply been sitting in my driveway before I began backing out. The interior sunshade was closed at the time of the incident. After the glass shattered, a substantial amount of broken glass remained on top of the closed sunshade and around the roof opening. I also observed that there was essentially no broken glass in my driveway, which suggests the glass failed from within the panel rather than from an external impact. This sudden failure occurred without warning and created a significant safety concern. Had this happened while I was driving at highway speeds with passengers in the vehicle or with the sunshade open, the results could have been much more dangerous due to falling glass and the driver's distraction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this incident to determine whether similar failures are occurring in 2024 Ford Edge vehicles and whether this represents a potential safety defect involving panoramic sunroofs.
