Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2025 Salem and Wildwood travel trailers

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Salem and Wildwood travel trailers. The side entry gate latch may become unlocked, allowing the strut to open the gate during transit.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,367 units affected.

Description:: Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 Salem and Wildwood travel trailers. The side entry gate latch may become unlocked, allowing the strut to open the gate during transit.
Consequeces:: An open gate can striking other road users and increases the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will install a warning label and tethered pin and remove the strut, free of chare. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2, 2025. Owner may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-534-3167. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1935.

2025 FOREST RIVER SALEM Complaints
Purchased this camper as brand new from camping world in November of 2025, after towing the camper home with my family in the vehicle, I proceeded to go through it about a week later to prepare it for winter. Upon going under the trailer I found two bolts that secure the leaf springs to the frame to be loose. One of them (front bolt of front driver side leaf spring ) was 3/4 of the way out, the other the nut was on by just 1 thread and the bolt was also backing out. This could have caused a serious accident or death as the vehicle could have rolled over or collided with another vehicle while turning. I proceeded to contact the dealership, they told me to contact Forrest river directly. I have submitted photos of issues and had back and forth correspondence and they have still not corrected the issue.. it has now been 3 months since I first reported this, and no one has corrected anything. Due to the severity of the issue I can not tow it to be serviced anywhere. I will be contacting my states attorney general as well to file a complaint.;
2025 FOREST RIVER WILDWOOD Complaints
The faulty wiring of the battery caused it to catch fire. The vehicle is currently available for inspection, at the dealership. We have the fire report, the independent fire inspection report, and the recall that was mailed to us by the manufacturer, as well as the inspection and estimate from the insurance company. My husband and infant daughter were inside when it caught fire directly under the propane tanks. There were no warning signs, the neighbor saw smoke from the window, that was the only warning that was had.;
