Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022-2025 S-Class, EQE SUV, EQE, EQS SUV and EQS vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. Software in the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) may cause an incorrect external pedestrian warning sound while reversing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid Electric Vehicles."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 94 units affected.

Consequeces:: A vehicle that makes an incorrect sound may fail to alert pedestrians of a reversing vehicle, increasing the risk of crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will update the AVAS software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 1, 2025. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2025070005.

2023 MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 580 4MATIC Complaints
I would like to report 3 issues. One, happened yesterday, XXX. Driving on [XXX], in clear weather, no obstacles, no vehicles around, the vehicle engaged emergency breaking and pulled seatbelts as if there was an imminent crash. Second issue, the carpet behind rear doors is separating on both sides, preventing the rear doors from closing normally and it is catching the seatbelt prong. Third issue, the handles retract when children are trying to open the doors, catching their fingers while retracting and causing minor injuries. 2024 MERCEDES-BENZ EQE 350+ Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+. The contact stated that while her husband was driving at 75 MPH, the panoramic sunroof suddenly shattered without warning, producing a loud booming sound. The contact's husband pulled over and inspected the vehicle before driving back to the residence. There were no other vehicles or objects nearby to cause external impact. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a repair estimate was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.;
2024 MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 450 4MATIC Complaints
I am submitting this report regarding a serious and potentially fatal unintended vehicle acceleration incident that occurred immediately after my vehicle was returned from repair. I originally brought the vehicle to the dealership’s body shop following a collision. The repairs included the replacement and repair of cracked grille covers, sensors, rear damage, and the rear camera system. The vehicle remained at the repair facility for approximately one month during the repair process. After finally picking up the vehicle, I drove and tested it for many miles without noticing any obvious issues. I then parked in front of a shopping center. The vehicle was fully stopped, and I shifted the transmission into PARK. After engaging PARK, I removed my foot from the brake pedal. At that exact moment, the vehicle suddenly and violently lunged forward on its own without any warning or driver input. The vehicle accelerated into a concrete pillar located less than two feet in front of the parking space. The impact was severe enough to deploy two airbags and caused a very loud, explosive sound inside the vehicle. The force of the collision shocked the interior seats and coverings, and I was left disoriented and briefly unconscious. This incident could easily have resulted in a fatality if a pedestrian or another person had been standing in front of the vehicle at the time of the unintended acceleration. I am requesting a full investigation into the cause of this sudden forward movement after the vehicle had already been stopped and shifted into PARK, especially considering the recent repair work involving sensors and collision-related components. This was an extremely dangerous incident and raises serious concerns about vehicle safety and possible malfunction before or after repair.;
2024 MERCEDES-BENZ EQS 450+ Complaints
At vehicle mileage 11,308 with original tires and traveling at highway speed of approximately 70 miles per hour on an interstate highway, the right rear tire suffered a catastrophic, sudden blowout. The loss of control placed the vehicle and its occupants in immediate danger of collision with surrounding highway traffic. The vehicle was towed to Mercedes-Benz of Hilton Head where both rear tires were found to have worn excessively on the inside of the tire due to excessive negative camber built into the factory suspension geometry. Ten days after the blowout, we presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Asheville for follow-up inspection. The service department informed us that the replacement tires installed at Hilton Head, while of the correct size, were “non-matching of front stock tire” in that they were not run-flat or noise-canceling and we purchased a second set of replacement tires at the factory-specified grade. The underlying cause of the original failure—the rear suspension geometry—was not examined, corrected, or documented at this visit. At vehicle mileage 16,502 and prior to a long-distance road trip, we specifically presented the vehicle to Mercedes-Benz of Asheville to request a dedicated safety inspection of the tires, wheel alignment, and brakes. The service department examined the vehicle and explicitly informed us that the alignment was good and the tires were safe for travel. Approximately 2,864 miles into travel following that clearance, the right rear passenger tire again suffered a catastrophic blowout. Both rear tires again were found to be excessively worn on the inside edge. The evidence is no longer circumstantial. The 2024 EQS 450+ is manufactured with rear wheels carrying a significant degree of intentional negative camber—the tops of the rear wheels are angled measurably inward at the factory.;
