General Motors is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 62,468 units affected.

Description:: General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit.
Consequeces:: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.
Corrective action:: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact GM customer assistance number at 1-866-467-9700. GM's number for this recall is N242482680. Vehicles in this recall that were previously repaired under 23V266 will need to have the new remedy completed.

The brake switch nearly burned the truck to the ground could smell the electrical burning, and the brake pressure failed due to a brake line failure Chevrolet says, the switch was covered in recall. But the say the brake lines arent covered. These same brake lines were recalled on Chevrolet commercial van chassis. This could have resulted in serious injury or death if it hadn't have failed at very low speeds. This is urgent an needs to be addressed. This vehicle has been in arkansas, not up north with salt on the roads. The brake lines shouldn't fail on a truck that's less than 4 years old.;
2019 CHEVROLET duplicate SILVERADO 5500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 5500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled. The failure recurred on several occasions with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7.;
2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 5500 Complaints
In August of 2025 I purchased a Chevy MD 5500 from Paul Masse, Inc., in RI. From the time of delivery the truck had a serious shake while operating. Paul Masse, Inc., told me that the tires had flat spots from sitting on the lot prior to purchase. As time went on the dealership placed two new sets of tires on the truck. Neither set fixed the shaking. Paul Masse, Inc., told me that this was how the truck operates and that there was nothing that they could do about it. I continued to contact the dealership for further examination of the vehicle for months with no response. I eventually sent a claim into the RI Dealer Commissioners' office. The commission acknowledged my claim and reached out to Paul Masse, Inc. Paul Masse, Inc., agreed to have their Executive VP, Bob Masse take the vehicle for a ride with me to see what was going on. After driving the truck with Bob Masse, he agreed to bring the truck in for further review. I dropped the truck off a day later, Bob Masse called me after his mechanics looked the vehicle over and told me that they would not be able to fix the truck, but they would offer a buyback if I agreed to take a new truck. I agreed to take the new truck. I had to finance a whole new truck, paying for more insurance, sales and registration taxes. The day I took delivery of the new truck it drove exactly as the old truck drove. In addition to the truck shaking like the old truck, the check engine light was on. I immediately called the Bob Masse, Bob told me to drop the truck off and they would have a look at it. After I dropped the truck off to the dealership, they had it for five days. Bob Masse had called me to say that the check engine light had been repaired, but they were waiting on new tires to come in, as they thought the shaking was once again from "Flat Spots" on the tires. Two days later I was notified from the service department that the truck was ready for pickup. There were no new tires on the truck. Bob Masse said no new tires.;
2024 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 6500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 6500. The contact stated that a month after the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V390000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); the contact became aware that the brake motor was constantly engaged. The contact stated that upon disconnecting the brake pressure switch, it was discovered that the brake switch connector was covered with brake fluid. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the recall remedy only involved the replacement of the brake pressure switch wiring harness, and the brake switch replacement was not covered. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact was referred to the dealer for additional assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the brake switch replacement was not covered by the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was called back and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The contact stated that the recall remedy had fail to correct the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.;
