Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2026 Volvo XC90MHEV, XC60MHEV, V90CCMHEV, and V60CCMHEV vehicles. The torsion bar in the front seat belt retractors may have been damaged during production.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,357 units affected.

Description:: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2026 Volvo XC90MHEV, XC60MHEV, V90CCMHEV, and V60CCMHEV vehicles. The torsion bar in the front seat belt retractors may have been damaged during production.
Consequeces:: A damaged retractor may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace both front seat belt retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 17, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Car's customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10340. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 17, 2025.

2026 VOLVO V60CCMHEV Complaints
There has not been a specific incident yet, but I am very concerned about the lack of lighting in the dark when our vehicle is in reverse. It is very difficult to see when backing up - either to the sides (making it difficult to tell where the edge of the road is), or directly behind (making it difficult to see if we are about to collide with an object or person). We contacted the dealer on 4/27/2026, and were told that this is a known concern with the Volvo V60 2026 models, but that no fix is available yet.;
2026 VOLVO XC60MHEV Complaints
I am reporting a potential safety defect involving the driver-assistance, lane-assist/steering intervention, and automatic braking systems in my 2026 Volvo XC60. I purchased the vehicle new on May 20, 2026, and it currently has approximately 10,000 miles. I have experienced repeated unexpected steering intervention while driving. On multiple occasions, the vehicle’s lane-assistance system has pulled or attempted to steer the vehicle toward oncoming traffic, requiring me to actively correct the steering. At other times, the steering intervention creates a sensation similar to hydroplaning, sliding, or temporarily losing control of the vehicle. Most recently, the vehicle unexpectedly and violently applied the brakes when there was no apparent obstacle or other reason for emergency braking. I have contacted a Volvo dealership regarding the lane-assist behavior and was told that the factory feature cannot simply be turned off. I am concerned that unexpected steering intervention toward opposing traffic or unexpected severe braking could cause the driver to lose control or could cause a front, side, or rear-end collision resulting in serious bodily injury or death. I am reporting these incidents because I believe this behavior presents a potential vehicle safety defect and should be documented and investigated.;
