Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2025 Audi RS Q8, Audi Q8, Audi Q7, and Audi SQ8 vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt buckles may be missing a rivet that secures the buckle to the seat belt stalk.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 61 units affected.

Description:: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2025 Audi RS Q8, Audi Q8, Audi Q7, and Audi SQ8 vehicles. The driver and front passenger seat belt buckles may be missing a rivet that secures the buckle to the seat belt stalk.
Consequeces:: A seat belt that is missing a rivet may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace both front seat belt buckles, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 3, 2025. Owners may contact Audi at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 692K. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 14, 2025.

2025 AUDI Q7 Complaints
I placed my child into the back seat of my 2025 Audi Q7 and secured the child in the car seat. The key fob was inside the vehicle in the back seat, and the vehicle was turned off. After placing my child in the vehicle, the Q7 unexpectedly locked with both my child and the key fob inside. I did not intentionally lock the vehicle. I attempted to regain access to the vehicle, but the doors remained locked and I was unable to access my child. The vehicle did not appear to recognize or respond appropriately to the fact that the key fob was located inside the passenger compartment. My child remained trapped inside the locked vehicle for more than three minutes while I attempted to gain access. Because the vehicle was off, my child was restrained in a car seat, and I had no reliable way to open the vehicle, I became increasingly concerned for my child's safety. After repeated attempts to gain entry failed, I determined that I could not safely wait any longer. I was forced to break one of the vehicle's windows to gain emergency access and remove my child. The window was not broken because of an accident, collision, vandalism, or a misplaced key. It was intentionally broken solely as an emergency measure because the vehicle unexpectedly locked with a child and the key fob inside the passenger compartment and I could not regain access. I subsequently reported the incident to my Audi dealership and requested an investigation of the vehicle's central-locking, key-detection, convenience-access, and related electronic systems. I am reporting this incident to NHTSA because I believe a vehicle unexpectedly locking while the key fob and a restrained child are inside, combined with the inability to regain access, represents a serious potential safety hazard. Because the vehicle was turned off, this type of malfunction could be particularly dangerous during hot or cold weather. 2025 AUDI Q8 Complaints
On July 4, 2026 in the early evening, I was driving in the HOV lane of the freeway when the engine abruptly lost power. There was a warning light that came onto the dashboard but I did not see what it said as I was solely concerned about moving safely off to the shoulder in moderate traffic. Once I pulled to the shoulder, I restarted the vehicle and was able to drive home safely. What put my wife and I in great danger was the vehicle losing power without warning when driving on the freeway and having to navigate safely to the shoulder in traffic without having acceleration power. I took the vehicle into the Audi Ontario dealer on July 6 for a rearview camera recall notice and to address the engine problem. I did not drive the vehicle after the July 4 incident but the loss of power did not happen again after I restarted the engine nor when I drove it to the dealer on July 6. The dealer notified me the next day that they could not recreate the engine problem and that the engine automatically turns off after coming to a stop. I explained I had not come to a stop, that I was driving at about 80 MPH with both hands on the steering wheel. I asked about what trouble codes they found and if I could have a print out since this was a safety concern and the vehicle only has 1,500 miles on it. The loss of propulsion was not the auto turn off when coming to a stop. They kept the vehicle for further review and I have not heard back as of July 14. I called to make inquiry and they are supposed to call me back. My concern is not only for me, but also for anyone that has this vehicle year, make, and model - the next person may not be so lucky to navigate to safety if it happens to them.;
