Volvo Car USA, LLC is recalling certain 2025-2026 EX30 and 2026 EX30CC vehicles

Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2025-2026 EX30 and 2026 EX30CC vehicles. The seat belt warning system may not activate the audible warning chime as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 1,584 units affected.

Description:: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2025-2026 EX30 and 2026 EX30CC vehicles. The seat belt warning system may not activate the audible warning chime as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequeces:: An audible warning chime that does not properly alert of an unbelted seat belt can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the terminals at the audio module connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 26, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Car’s customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car’s number for this recall is R10365. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on March 13, 2026.

2026 VOLVO EX30 Complaints
The contact owns a 2026 Volvo EX30. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the adaptive cruise control independently activated, and the vehicle independently accelerated. The failure was a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the failure was an operator error. The contact was informed that by accidentally pressing the shifter two times, the adaptive cruise control feature was activated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the shifter was not pressed during the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure another time. The contact was advised to video the failure and provide the video to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.;
2026 VOLVO EX30CC Complaints
On 6/27/26 at approximately 12:30pm, I was stopped at a red light for about 10-15 seconds at a major intersection. The vehicle was stopped on a slight incline. My feet were not on the pedals, the car was set with one pedal drive engaged at the "high" setting, cruise control/pilot assist was not active, my seatbelt was on, `Creep Forward was disabled, and the car had been completely stationary for those 10-15 seconds. Suddenly, the car spontaneously started to accelerate - not slowly rolling forward, but actively accelerating with significant forward propulsion. Given the configuration in which the vehicle was set, the vehicle shouldn’t have moved at all let alone with such sudden speed. Fortunately, there was no one in front of me and I was paying close attention so I was able to immediately step on the brake pedal to stop the car. The car only traveled about 2-3 feet, but that's only because I reacted so quickly. Without immediate braking the car would’ve entered into the intersection and cross-traffic.No warning lights or symbols appeared prior to the malfunction and the dealership could not determine the cause. The vehicle experienced another unexpected propulsion event with another driver the day after the Volvo service department inspected it. I requested that Volvo cars preserve any available diagnostic, event, telemetry, or other vehicle data potentially associated with either incident so that it is not overwritten or lost.The vehicle is available for inspection upon request;
