Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Elantra N, 2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), and Elantra vehicles. The B-pillar impact sensors may have been misassembled, which can delay air bag deployment.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 2,931 units affected.

Description:: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Elantra N, 2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), and Elantra vehicles. The B-pillar impact sensors may have been misassembled, which can delay air bag deployment.
Consequeces:: Air bags that do not deploy as intended increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will inspect and replace the impact sensor(s), as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai's customer service at 855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 299. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on April 22, 2026.

2025 HYUNDAI ELANTRA N Complaints
To the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration I am submitting this formal safety complaint regarding a persistent and dangerous pattern of mechanical and electronic failures in my 2025 Hyundai Elantra N. These issues have rendered the vehicle unsafe for regular operation on public highways. The safety concerns began at 2810 miles when the vehicle first showed signs of structural and electronic instability. Since that initial mileage the vehicle has demonstrated a progressive inability to maintain its steering and alignment specifications which has led to unpredictable and hazardous driving conditions. By 16550 miles the steering issues became severe. The vehicle intermittently began to dart to the left or right without driver input. A diagnostic alignment check at that time confirmed multiple values were out of specification including the right front and right rear toe. These red zone readings were documented by the dealership machinery but the root cause was not corrected. Along with the steering failures the electronic systems began to malfunction. The steering wheel buttons and drive mode memory settings started resetting randomly which prevents the driver from reliably controlling vehicle configurations. As of February 28 2026 at 18037 miles the condition of the vehicle has deteriorated further. The steering system is now physically incapable of holding factory specifications for more than 30 days. In the last 1487 miles the alignment shifted from the right side of the car to the left side with the left front and left rear toe now showing failing red values. This mechanical instability causes the vehicle to wander and pull aggressively. Most critically the electronic safety systems are now failing. The Lane Keep Assist functionality frequently deactivates itself without warning or external cause. When this safety feature shuts down it often coincides with the car darting toward other lanes.;

I bought the car about 2 days ago and while driving the car caught fire and I had to call my local fire department. I never hit anyone or did anything it just caught fire randomly.;
2026 HYUNDAI TUCSON HYBRID Complaints
My instrument cluster goes completely blank while driving the vehicle. It will also have every light come on when it does come back on all of the check engine lights, and every other diagnosis light comes on. It continues to do this while driving. I have already had the safety recall done and it is still failing.;

2026 HYUNDAI TUCSON PLUG-IN HYBRID Complaints
The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start and required to be jump-started by the dealer. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with TSB: 25-01-010H. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,089.;
