Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC is recalling certain 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Velar

Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover vehicles. The seat belt warning system may not activate the audible warning chime as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 76 units affected.

Description:: Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2026 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover vehicles. The seat belt warning system may not activate the audible warning chime as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to conform with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequeces:: A seat belt chime that fails to alert occupants that they are unbuckled can increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Corrective action:: Dealers will replace the audio amplifier, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed July 10, 2026. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is D105.

NHTSA Vehicle Safety Complaint Narrative I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a safety-related defect involving the power liftgate on my 2026 Range Rover Sport. Prior to the incident described below, the vehicle’s power liftgate had unexpectedly opened on two separate occasions after it had been closed. Although those earlier events did not result in damage, they caused concern because the liftgate opened without my intentionally activating it. On July 2, 2026, while exiting my parking space in my condominium garage, I closed the liftgate, entered the vehicle, and began driving forward. Without any intentional activation by me, the power liftgate suddenly opened while the vehicle was moving. The liftgate struck a low overhead pipe/obstruction in the garage, causing significant damage to the liftgate, rear tail lamp, and related components. At the time of the incident: * I was driving forward, not reversing. * I did not intentionally press the liftgate button, key fob, or use any gesture activation feature. * The second key fob was inside my residence and not in the vehicle. * The incident occurred in the morning, before my family departed for a trip to Washington, D.C. I reported the incident to the Land Rover dealership and Land Rover North America. An engineering review later concluded that the vehicle “may have been reversing” and referenced a timestamp that I believe is inconsistent with when the incident actually occurred. I have requested written explanations regarding these discrepancies, including the basis for the conclusion that the vehicle may have been reversing and whether the two previous unexpected liftgate opening events were considered during the investigation. To date, I have not received satisfactory written answers to those questions. My concern extends beyond the damage to my vehicle. A power liftgate opening unexpectedly while a vehicle is in motion presents a potential safety hazard.;

2026 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR Complaints
FUEL DOOR UNABLE TO LOCK AFTER VEHICLE IS LOCKED Bought a new 2026 Range Rover velar about a week ago. I was surprised to see fuel door does not lock when vehicle is locked. I pressed the fuel door with my keys outside of vehicle reach and fuel door opened. This can lead to fuel theft and vandalism. Anybody can put anything in the fuel door because of its inability to lock and it can cause serious accident when you drive. No modern vehicle has its fuel door open when vehicle is locked. I have driven Mercedes, BMW, KIA, Honda, when vehicle is locked, everything is locked including FUEL DOOR. Brought it up to Land Rover Dealership, Huntington, NY, they literally told me they don’t care and nothing they can do about it. Such a shame, this needs serious and urgent recall and fix.;
