Chrysler is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 844,027 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequeces:: A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective action:: Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 2, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 78D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.

2026 JEEP CHEROKEE Complaints
I was driving on a busy street. The fuel gauge said I had 10-12 miles of range left before I was out of fuel. 2 miles later, at a major intersection, my car stalled in middle of the intersection. A kind stranger help me push it off of the road. I could have been hit by a car. This is a major safety issue. This is the first of two times this has happened since August.;
2026 JEEP COMPASS Complaints
The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that after releasing the parking brake and attempting to drive the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to immediately respond. The vehicle hesitated before suddenly driving forward. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving forward and while attempting to reverse. During one failure, the vehicle almost struck a pedestrian. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions, but the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000.;
2026 JEEP GLADIATOR Complaints
While stopped in active traffic at a red light on August 31, 2026, the vehicle suffered an unexpected, complete electrical failure and sudden total loss of motive power. The digital instrument cluster illuminated a red battery indicator accompanied by an urgent safety alert stating: "Stop Safely / Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon." Within seconds, total vehicle electrical power collapsed, the engine died completely, and the vehicle became immobilized in the active lane of travel, unable to restart or clear the intersection. When roadside assistance arrived and applied external jump power, the engine cranked and briefly started, but severe, rapid electromechanical ticking and chattering immediately occurred inside the primary Power Distribution Center (PDC). System voltage collapsed again within seconds, stalling the engine. The immobilized vehicle had to be winched onto a commercial flatbed to clear the roadway. Subsequent inspection confirmed a severed high-amp charging busbar fuse array inside the PDC on a vehicle with only 18,259 miles. A sudden, uncommanded electrical collapse and complete loss of motive power that immobilizes a vehicle in active traffic creates a severe hazard and an unreasonable risk of collision.;
