Jul 03, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, 114SD, Western Star 47X, and 49X transit buses equipped with Composolite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension assemblies. The tie rod assembly ball stud could have been improperly heat treated and can fail.

Jun 04, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV 106, and S2C 106 transit buses, cabs, and chassis. The front axle tie rod ball joint studs may crack and break, which can result in tie rod separation.

Jun 03, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Custom Chassis MC, MT45, MT45G, MT55, S2C 106, S2RV 106, XBS, XCM, XCP, XCR, XCS, Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, 57X, and Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 transit buses, cabs, and chassis. The wheel hub fasteners may loosen and cause the wheel to detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.

Feb 08, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Western Star 49X vehicles. The suspension hanger may fail due to missing welds, which can result in difficulty steering and maintaining the direction of the front two wheels.

Jan 31, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Western Star 49X and 2025 Freightliner Cascadia vehicles. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software has incorrect axle spacing parameters. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 136, "Electronic Stability Control Systems on Heavy Vehicles."

Jan 10, 2024 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Western Star 4900 and Western Star 6900 vehicles. A defect in the inversion valve may delay park brake engagement, which could allow the vehicle to move unintentionally. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

May 16, 2023 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Western Star 57X vehicles. The interior turn signals may flash too quickly and not align with the exterior turn signal flashing. Interior turn signals that consistently flash too quickly may not change their flash rate to alert the driver to replace the bulbs. An exterior turn signal bulb that is burnt out will not illuminate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Apr 26, 2023 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain short wheelbase 2020-2024 Freightliner Cascadia, 2021-2024 Freightliner M2 Business Class, 2022 Western Star 4700, and 2020 Freightliner Classic Cascadia vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with an electronic stability control system and tire combination that may understeer during a J-turn. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 136, "Electronic Stability Control Systems on Heavy Vehicles."

Apr 04, 2023 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022 FCCC Shuttle Chassis, 2022-2023 FCCC RV Chassis, FCCC Van Chassis, Van Chassis Gas, 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner Business Class M2, Thomas Built Bus School Bus Chassis, Western Star 4700, Western Star 47X, Western Star 4900, and Western Star 49X commercial buses. The tie rod may be missing a fastener, allowing the steer arm to detach.

Mar 28, 2023 – Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Freightliner Cascadia and Western Star 49X vehicles. The hazard warning lights may flash improperly during an Advanced Braking Assist event. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
