RECALL FOR STRUCTURE : BODY : HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE : HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINI VANS. THE BOLTS USED TO ATTACH THE STRUT TO THE BODY AND THE REAR LIFTGATE CAN ACCUMULATE FATIGUE DAMAGE IF THREE FACTORS COMBINE. IF THE BOLT IS LOOSE, THE GAS STRUT IS OVER-PRESSURIZED, AND THE FREQUENCY OF OPENING AND CLOSING CYCLES IS HIGHER THAN FOR THE AVERAGE CUSTOMER, THE BOLT CAN FAIL.

PERSONAL INJURY COULD OCCUR IF THE BOLTS BREAK ALLOWING THE LIFTGATE TO FALL SUDDENLY. |

DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR LOOSE FASTENERS, IF THE FASTENERS ARE LOOSE, THE STRUT (AND INTEGRAL BOLTS) WILL BE REPLACED. IF THE BOLT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF TORQUE, THE BOLT WILL BE REMOVED, LARGER WASHERS WILL REPLACE THE EXISTING WASHER AND THE BOLT WILL BE REINSTALLED AND HAND TIGHTENED TO THE TARGET TORQUED. |

My brakes went out August 2011. The brakes were
repaired including the accumulator. Chrysler reimbursed me $710.00. They failed again, this time in January of this year. I took the van to Verger Chrysler in Coos Bay. They honored the warranty but charged me $436.75 for a new accumulator! I complained and was told the part wasn't covered. Why was it last time?

my brakes/abs pump went up, while on vacation at the grand canyon ,just about made it over the clif ,if it wasent for downshifting/parking brake.towed van from there to palm springs, ca ,took to chrysler, still waiting 3 weeks later,lucky to have relitives to infringe on until matter gets resolved, so I can take my wife and 6 kids back home to york ,pa. other than the brakes the van has been very reliable,great ride smooth and quiet, with all the extras, so we still like chrysler they make a good solid ride.
