DEALERS WILL INSTALL A LOW-FORCE SPRING CLIP RETAINER FOR VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A PBR PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE TRW PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM, DEALERS WILL INSTALL A REDESIGNED PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 29, 2005. I drive a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD and love it. Bought it with over 60,000 miles on it, now it has over 234,500 miles on it. It has only had to be towed twice. First time was fuel system. The 2nd time was the waterpump- over a year later. Its been a great truck and I'm going to see if it can handle me beating on it until it hits 300,000 miles
