FALKEN Recalls

Nov 06, 2024 – Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Falken WildPeak AT4W size 275/60R20 115T tires. The tires may have been produced using the incorrect cord material for one of the plies. The sidewall label incorrectly identifies the generic name of the cord material. As such, the affected tires do not meet the labeling requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, ?New pneumatic radial tires for light vehicles.?

Dec 07, 2023 – Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Falken Wildpeak AT3W with size 265/70R17 115T and Wildpeak HT02 with size LT235/85R16 120/116S tires. Due to a manufacturing error, the tires may have a puncture in the sidewall and leak air. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."

Sep 14, 2022 – Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Falken Pro G5 CSV tires, size 235/65R17 104V, 235/65R18 106V, 245/50R20 102V, and 265/50R20 111V. An inadequate sulfur level in the tread base compound prevented proper curing of the tread base rubber.

May 06, 2022 – Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Sumitomo and Falken tires. Please refer to the recall report for specific tire information. A deformation may occur in the tires near the bead, which could result in bead separation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other Than Passenger Cars."

Oct 21, 2019 – Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo) is recalling certain Falken ZIEX CT50 A/S tires, size P255/50R20 104V, having date code 1619, Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires, size 215/45R18 89W, having date code 0919, and Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires size P215/50R17 90V, having date code 0619. An incorrect rubber compound may have been used in manufacturing, which may allow sections near the tread surface to become partially detached.

Jan 31, 2001 – TIRE DESCRIPTION: FALKEN RADIAL A/P AND OHTSU HIGH COUNTRY A/P TIRE SIZES LT235/85R16 10PR AND LT245/75R16 10PR MANUFACTURED BETWEEN AUGUST 26, 2000, AND JANUARY 6, 2001. THESE TIRES DO NOT COMPLY WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 109 "NEW PNEUMATIC TIRES," SECTION 5.3 TIRE STRENGTH "PLUNGER TEST."

May 13, 1999 – TIRE DESCRIPTION: RADIAL A/P, LT245/75R16, 10 PR, LOAD RANGE E, TIRES MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 1996 THROUGH JUNE 1997 (SERIAL NOS. ENDING016 AND 267), INSTALLED ON ALFA IDEAL TRAILER MODEL 235 (ID35RLT). IF THE TIRES ARE NOT PROPERLY INFLATED OR IF THE ALFA IDEAL MODEL 235 TRAILER IS OVERLOADED, THE RAISED WHITE RUBBER SIDE LETTER CAN SEPARATE FROM THE BLACK RUBBER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE.

Nov 27, 1995 – "STANDARD LOAD" SPECIFICATIONS WERE INCORRECTLY PLACED AND MANUFACTURED IN THE TIRE MOLDS FOR "EXTRA LOAD" PRODUCTION TIRES. THIS DOES NOT CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 109, "NEW PNEUMATIC TIRES."
