Chrysler Group LLC is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. Due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks may detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components, the tire or result in reduced braking.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 20,347 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Ram 1500 and 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles. Due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks may detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components, the tire or result in reduced braking.
Consequeces:: Damage to the tire or reduced braking increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear shocks and replace any affected ones, free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P37.

2014 JEEP CHEROKEE Complaints
I purchesed the vehicle in April of 2024, test drove it and it drove fine, the dealership said they had to service a recall of the transfer case before I could take the car home. Once I picked the car up and drove it for a few days it was driving very weird and had low speed shuttering, I took it back to the dealership after googling that it might be related to the transfer case and they looked at it and said everything was fine, so I just dealt with the issue. Recently the "service 4wd" light came on so I took it to a friend to take a look at it and they noticed that the transfer case that was put in to service the recall was actually from a junk yard and used which is what has been causing the issues I've been having. I researched it a bit further and was told to make a complaint due to having junk yard parts put in to satisfy a recall being illegal.;
2014 RAM 1500 Complaints
Sudden, complete loss of electric power steering while backing out in a parking lot. I was driving our 2014 Ram 1500. It was approximately 9:00 pm and I was in a post office parking lot. I started the truck, put the car in reverse and backed out. The steering suddenly became impossible to turn and the ESP warning appeared on the dash. The truck had been driving fine and the failure occurred without warning. THE ESP warning light had never appeared prior to this incident. The truck could not be safely driven after the steering failure and required towing to a mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed a failure of the electric power steering system and the entire electric power steering rack and pinion had to be replaced. This was an unexpected and significant repair expense at a cost of $2,788.50 including $150 for the tow. Thankfully, the total failure of the ESP did not occur when I was driving at a high speed and thankfully it was late enough in the day that the parking lot was empty and no other vehicles were involved or disrupted. My safety and others would have been at risk because the steering wheel was completely locked and I was unable to turn it at all. The old rack and pinion has been kept if inspection is needed. It has not been inspected by anyone other than our mechanic. I am specifically filing this report because after my own searches, I discovered that this situation has happened numerous times and it could be a very serious catastrophic event if it is not investigated.
