Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Prius and Corolla, 2009-2011 Venza, 2006-2010 Avalon, 2007-2010 FJ Cruiser, 2005-2011 Sienna and Sequoia, 2006-2011 Tacoma 4x2 and 4x4, Camry, Highlander, Tundra 4x2 and 4x4, and 2007-2011 Rav4 and 4Runner. The affected vehicles may experience compression of the seat cushion which may damage the seat heater wiring.

The recall was influenced by the manufacturer with about 3,233 units affected.

Description:: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Prius and Corolla, 2009-2011 Venza, 2006-2010 Avalon, 2007-2010 FJ Cruiser, 2005-2011 Sienna and Sequoia, 2006-2011 Tacoma 4x2 and 4x4, Camry, Highlander, Tundra 4x2 and 4x4, and 2007-2011 Rav4 and 4Runner. The affected vehicles may experience compression of the seat cushion which may damage the seat heater wiring.
Consequeces:: Damage to the seat heater wiring could cause the wires to short, increasing the risk of the seat burning and causing personal injury to the occupant.
Corrective action:: SET will notify owners, and dealers will disconnect the heaters with copper strand heating elements and refund the purchase price of the seat heater accessory, free of charge. The recall is expected to began in January 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226.

2010 TOYOTA AVALON Complaints
2010 Toyota Avalon [XXX] purchased used. Sticker on driver’s door post states 32PSI for all tires. Low tire pressure light activated, XXX Toyota dealer ordered 5 new tire sensors and installed them XXX. Light reactivated in fall, I put 32 PSI in all tires, light stayed on. I used Costco air service to put 32PSI in all tires light stayed on. I took to dealer; they said gauges must be wrong and light odd when returned vehicle to me. I sent letter with photos to the service manager and received no response. In May 2026 light again came on, I checked the pressure with new gauge and 3 tires at 36PSI and one at 33 PSI. Took in for service and pointed to 32PSI sticker on door, again vehicle returned with incorrect pressure 36 PSI. 2010 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER Complaints
The truck's frame was found to be cracked / rusted through in spots. It was discovered during another attempted repair 8/17/26. Because of the split / crack in the frame, the vehicle is now not drivable as it is deemed not road worthy. This problem is known to Toyota as well as the NHTSA. The Tacomas of the same years, on which this vehicle is built (same frame, same faulty rust-proofing operation from the manufacturer), was identified and Toyota was required to address it. Why this vehicle was NOT included in the fix is a complete mystery as this problem is well-known and well-documented, far and wide (see YouTube, FJ Cruiser forums, etc., etc.). NHTSA and Toyota have really let FJ Cruiser owners down on this one.;
2011 TOYOTA 4RUNNER Complaints
I am writing to report a serious safety hazard regarding the factory paint and primer on my 2011 Toyota 4Runner (Paint Code: [ 070 for Blizzard Pearl]). The vehicle is experiencing severe, widespread paint delamination where areas of factory paint are peeling cleanly away from the metal body panels while driving. This is a known manufacturing defect involving a chemical failure of the factory primer, which Toyota previously acknowledged under Customer Support Program ZKG. This manufacturing failure has created distinct, immediate safety hazards on public roadways. Blinding Glare / Driver Distraction: Because the paint has completely peeled away in sections on the hood, the bare, highly reflective eco-coat/metal underneath is completely exposed and getting worse day by day. During peak daylight hours, the sun reflects off these large exposed areas directly into my line of sight, causing sudden, blinding glare that severely impairs my vision while operating the vehicle. Toyota has refused to remedy this manufacturing defect case number : 260612000716, citing that the vehicle is outside of their arbitrary calendar-based extension program (ZKG), despite the fact that the underlying chemical failure and resulting safety hazards remain active and dangerous.;
2011 TOYOTA CAMRY Complaints
The contact's wife owns a 2011 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the sun was reflecting off the dashboard, which caused a glare onto the windshield. The glare obstructed the driver's vision and caused a dangerous driving condition. The dashboard became sticky, and there were bubbles on the dashboard from the damage caused by the sun. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a TSB associated with the failure had expired. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.;
2011 TOYOTA COROLLA Complaints
This Complaint is not about a specific incident, but about excessively-brilliant (blinding) headlights. In the flow of traffic, the blinded drivers far outnumber the vehicle using blinding headlights. The area those headlights cover spreads out so WIDE, the blinded driver is not able to see the side of the road. Insurance companies may say this problem does not cause accidents; but, I believe that is because many drivers do not dare risk driving at night. Excessively-brilliant, blinding, headlights should be BANNED and Recalled. Those headlights are a terrible safety concern and should have been banned years ago.;
