Chrysler Group LLC is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Dodge Ram 1500

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Dakota, and 2006 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles manufactured July 1, 2005, to July 31, 2006 with manual transmissions. The return springs in the clutch ignition interlock switch may break.

The recall was influenced by the Office of Defects Investigation with about 54,164 units affected.

Description:: Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, Dakota, and 2006 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles manufactured July 1, 2005, to July 31, 2006 with manual transmissions. The return springs in the clutch ignition interlock switch may break.
Consequeces:: Broken springs can result in a no-start condition, or cause unintended movement when the ignition is cranked, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Corrective action:: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clutch ignition interlock switch, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P80.

2006 MITSUBISHI RAIDER Complaints
The contact owns a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds through a residential area, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway at the end of a cul-de-sac and shift the vehicle into park. Upon attempting to exit the cul-de-sac the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into reverse, after which the contact shifted the vehicle back into drive. Immediately upon shifting back into drive the vehicle aggressively accelerated independently, causing a brief loss of control of the vehicle. The contact was able to regain control of the vehicle brought the vehicle to a complete stop and switched the vehicle off; deciding then to discontinue driving the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not towed to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 147,000.;
2007 DODGE DAKOTA Complaints
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that a dealer technician came to the contact’s residence and performed an air bag recall repair. Following the repair, the vehicle became inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and that a burning odor was coming from the area near the air bag. The battery warning light was illuminated. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.;
2007 DODGE RAM 1500 Complaints
Adjustable pedals move side to side 2-3 inches making breaking unsafe by allowing foot to slip off of break onto the accelerator,;
2007 DODGE RAM 2500 Complaints
The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that it was difficult to shift the gear shifter out of park(P). The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was discovered that the vehicle could be shifted out of park(P) without depressing the brake pedal. The contact was informed that the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) had failed. The contact researched the failure and stated that millions of similar vehicles were included in a recall for the BTSI; however, the year and VIN were not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 59,242.;
2007 DODGE RAM 3500 Complaints
The sound proofing insulation on the firewall caught fire. There was a recall for sagging insulation catching fire on the EGR heat exchanger for this problem, and mine caught fire anyway. I called 911 and the Corbin KY fire department responded to the seen to confirm the fire was out.;
